Sky News Australia recently welcomed a Canadian meteorologist to its team to present Australian weather reports.

Bradlyn Oakes hails from the snowy town of Regina, Saskatchewan, and recently moved to Sydney to take on the role.

Oakes has several years of experience in the Canadian Arctic and tries to spice things up with her sunny disposition.

She joins a long line of American voices on Sky News, which regularly features US-based guests and contributors to discuss political issues, both locally and internationally.

Oakes will collaborate with veteran meteorologists Alison Osborn and Rob Sharpe.

Oakes recently posted a photo to Instagram of her on the Sky News set with a satellite image of Australia behind her,

‘Exciting times! First day on the air at Sky News Weather Australia! Can’t wait for all the adventures,” she wrote.

She also joked that it was “absolutely fun to be out in sunny weather and get a tan.”

Many of her fans were quick to congratulate her on the exciting career move.

She has been married to her husband Nick since 2019.
