Sky Sports has apologized to Nottingham Forest after a ‘comedy’ sketch mocked manager Steve Cooper’s appearance.
A skit on the broadcaster’s Fantasy Football show took viewers into Forest’s locker room for Serge Aurier’s signing.
In it, host Elis James appeared to have changed his face significantly, with one eye nearly closed, trying to laugh.
Not only at Forest, but the senior executives at Sky were appalled at the clumsy attempt at humor.
Insiders have revealed that those working within Sky’s football division – which relies on maintaining healthy relationships with the clubs it covers – were unimpressed.
“How on earth can anyone think this is a good idea?” said one.
“For starters, it’s rude, unfunny, and cruel. But apart from that, Sky Sports has regular dealings with these clubs and relies on a good relationship with them. It didn’t go well at all.’

Sky has since apologized to the Nottingham Forest manager for James’ impression of him
The show, a revival of the hit 90s Frank Skinner and David Baddiel, has made its comeback after an 18-year hiatus this year and will be shown on the Sky Max channel.
While playing Cooper and poking fun at Forest’s extensive summer activities, adding more than 20 new faces, James Aurier hands over a shirt numbered 4,345 in a crowded locker room.
Matt Lucas then appears as Luciano Pavarotti, in a not-so-subtle dig at Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Bos declined to comment.
Sky Sports confirmed that an apology had been made.
