Sketch of suspect in Maryland mom Rachel Morin’s murder is released six months after she was killed on hiking trail and creepy video of wanted man was seen – as her mother begs for help
Police in Maryland have released a sketch of Rachel Morin’s suspected killer, six months after she was brutally murdered as her mother begged the public for help.
Morin had gone for a walk on the Ma and Pa Hiking Trail in Bel Air, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) north of Baltimore, on August 5 around 6 p.m., but was unable to return home that evening.
The following day, the body of the 37-year-old mother of five was discovered naked on the popular trail and beaten in a tunnel along the route.
Six months later, Harford police released a sketch of her suspected killer and encouraged the public to take a closer look.
In an emotional interview, Morin’s mother has called on locals to remember August and help finally solve the mystery of her daughter’s death.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office released the sketch Monday and encourages the public to take a close look and provide any relevant information
In an emotional interview, Morin’s mother begged locals to think back to August to finally solve the mystery of her daughter’s death.
Speak with 11 NewsPatty Morin said, “I can’t live the rest of my life in pain, I can’t do that. There has to be something that moves us forward.”
‘We really need to find this man. I’m so tired of crying. I’m so tired of feeling sad, and I’m so tired.
‘We have to find this person. We need to be able to find some kind of solution so that we can have some kind of process for healing.
“He’s just going through with it because he thinks he can get away with it, and someone else is going to feel the pain we feel, and they shouldn’t have to.”
“Capturing this person won’t make my sadness go away. It won’t make my sadness go away. I lost the daughter. I can’t bring her back.
‘No one can bring her back. But it will stop him from hurting someone else.”
Detectives believe Morin’s killer was in the area in the days before her murder and witnesses reported seeing a man near the path where she was jogging.
Harford County Sheriff’s Captain Andrew Lane said, “I would say (he was seen during the) last two weeks of July, leading up to August, in and around that area.”
Lane added, “That leads us to believe he was here some time beforehand, and that may help the public identify this person.”
“Most people who use that trail often don’t even know they’re there, they’re well hidden, so he obviously knew the culvert was there and he most likely knew it was hidden from the trail.”
A source close to the family told DailyMail.com in mid-August that the young mother had suffered severe head trauma

The suspect in Morin’s murder has been linked by DNA to a home invasion and assault in LA in March this year
The investigation has taken agents to seven different states, involving 10 federal, state and local agencies.
DNA from the crime scene linked Rachel’s killer to a suspect in an assault and home invasion in Los Angeles on March 26.
Door camera footage shows the man leaving the California property after the crime.
Still images from the footage have now been turned into posters by Morin’s loved ones and distributed to LA schools.
“He could have been in high school two years ago,” Randolph Rice, an attorney for the Morin family, told CBS News.
“So if there’s a teacher who teaches him and sees him every day during the school year, hopefully that teacher would recognize who he is.”
Earlier this month, they also sent 10,000 flyers to homes near the LA crime scene to bring possible identity tips to police.
“Remember, the story hasn’t been covered as well in Los Angeles as it has here in Baltimore and Maryland,” Rice said.
The man can be seen walking away from the home in Los Angeles. His DNA was linked to the LA home invasion and Morin’s body

“So we’re hopeful that we’re going to reach someone, because maybe someone hasn’t seen these images yet.”
In August, Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler warned that the suspect could be a serial killer preparing to strike again.
Gahler said, “Serial killers all start somewhere. What he did in Los Angeles was, I believe, certainly in that direction.
‘I believe his intention was to cause more serious bodily harm. We don’t know who he is yet.
“He may still have his head here in our county, or he may have fled to anywhere in the country or even the world.”
Morin was originally reported missing by her boyfriend Richard Tobin, who also found her car at the trailhead.
Rachel Morin and Richard Tobin started dating a few weeks ago. She was found murdered on a hiking trail on Sunday. The pair are shown together on an earlier walk
Tobin pleaded his innocence on Facebook and said he would do nothing to harm Rachel
The couple had made their relationship official on social media four days before she was killed.
Tobin was forced to insist on social media that he had nothing to do with her disappearance after speculation surfaced online.
He posted: ‘I love Rachel. I would never hurt her, let the family and I mourn.
‘Yes, I have a past, but I have also been clean for fifteen months and have changed as a person. Please.’
Tobin has been arrested 14 times since 2014 on various charges, including drug trafficking, assault, disorderly conduct and refusing arrest.
A source close to the family told DailyMail.com in mid-August that the young mother had suffered severe head trauma.
A $30,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest, with the public encouraged to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
