Six women found dead in the Portland woods in the past three months

In Portland, six women have been found dead in remote wooded areas in the past three months.

The victims were all found under suspicious circumstances in disused barns, by the side of the road or hidden in the bushes.

One died due to blunt force trauma to the head and neck, but police have not yet released the causes of death for the other women.

Across several miles and police jurisdictions, multiple police departments are investigating their deaths.

Now those police forces are working together to determine if the deaths may be related.

Her sister Joanna, a mother of three and recovering drug addict, was found dead in a shed in early April just a few weeks after her disappearance.

She died of blunt injuries to the head and neck, and police say her body was moved to the location where she was found after she was killed.

“I never want to scare people, but the reality is that an awful lot of women are dying. Women need to pay attention and they need to know that there are dangers and they are clearly taking the lives of people we love,” added Robin.

The first body was found on February 19.

Kristin Smith, 22, had been missing since late December. Her remains were found in a wooded area near an intersection in Pleasant Valley.

The coroner had not yet ruled on the cause of death. Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for her funeral expenses.

They had conducted their own search for her and handed out missing persons fliers.

On April 24, a few weeks after Joanna’s death, 24-year-old Charity Perry was found dead near Ainsworth State Park.

Police would not release further details about her death for fear of jeopardizing their investigation.

On the same day, an unidentified woman who police say is of Native American or Alaskan Native descent was found dead near an Interstate.
