Fighting broke out in Austell Park on Saturday evening, with teenagers running through the park and a group of men kicking one person to the ground.

Video footage showed the frenzied fight scenes as a helicopter flew overhead.

There was reportedly a large police presence at the park, and the GBI confirmed that officers from Cobb County were involved in the shooting that broke out.

The GBI said nearly 600 people were running and fighting in the park Saturday evening.

An ‘unknown number’ of suspects fired shots at police as Cobb County officers rushed people from the park onto South Service Road, VOS5 reported.

An officer returned fire, hitting one of the suspects, who was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, although their current condition is unknown.

Someone who was in the park during the fighting managed to capture the chaos on camera, which he then uploaded to Instagram.

You can see huge crowds moving frantically through the park and visitors shouting ‘what the fuck is going on’ in the background.

Park workers tried to usher the crowd out of the park as more shouting broke out.

A boy is seen being handcuffed and arrested by two officers amid the chaos, although it is unclear what exactly he is being arrested for.

A visitor to the park said at the time of the gunfire, “Six Flags Over Georgia is NOT safe.”

They posted on It is not safe.’ Through security.’

“Then when we come out, not only do we see all these police, we hear gunshots that caused mass panic. Don’t go,” the user warned.

Last year, the amusement park faced similar problems on ‘opening day’. A large group of teenagers had to be removed from the park after fighting broke out.

It is unknown whether any of the suspects will face legal consequences from the events that took place on Saturday evening.

‘Our goal is to provide safe and fun entertainment. We utilize state-of-the-art security systems and metal detection, maintain a robust and vigilant Public Safety Department, and have strong support from the Cobb County Police Department, which has a presence both inside and outside the park. Every guest is expected to follow our strict code of conduct and anyone who does not wish to follow this code of conduct is not welcome.

It is incredibly disappointing that our community is being disrupted by groups of underage youth at public events across the region. Like other locations in the area, we strive to keep these types of problems out of our park and off our property. There was police activity involving gunfire; We would like to confirm that there has been no shooting at our property or car park. This took place on South Service Road, which is not owned or operated by Six Flags. However, we join our community and the Atlanta region in our commitment to safety and security. We don’t tolerate that kind of activity here.’
