Six three-year-old children are stabbed by a knife man in a French playground before the attacker is subdued
Six three-year-old children were stabbed this morning by a knifeman in a French playground before the attacker was overpowered by police.
Witnesses told Le Dauphine At around 9:45 a.m., a man wearing a turban began attacking the group of young children as they were playing on a small playground in Annecy, a mountain town in southeastern France.
Armed police arrived on the scene and quickly subdued the knifeman before he was arrested and taken to hospital with injuries, the French newspaper reported.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin tweeted: “Several people, including children, were injured by a person armed with a knife in a square in Annecy.
“The person was arrested thanks to the very quick action of the police.”
Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is now traveling to the site of the attack, her assistant said.
