Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s daughter says she ‘doesn’t like’ her stepmother Robyn

Christine and Kody Brown’s daughter Gwendlyn shared her candid thoughts about her stepmom Robyn on her new YouTube channel.

The 21-year-old reacted to the most recent season of TLC’s hit show Sister Wives, letting his viewers know his true feelings about his father’s fourth wife, while confessing, “I really don’t like her as a person.”

Gwendlyn is one of the the 18 children of the polygamist, and one of his six with his third wife, Christine, who left him in 2021, after 25 years together. Robyn is currently Kody’s only legal girlfriend, after he recently separated from his first wife, Meri, and after his second wife, Janelle, left him.

Gwendlyn said she’s “not really a part of the FLDS community anymore” and focused her first video on the episode where Christine told Kody she was leaving him.

In late 2021, Christine shocked the world by announcing that she was stepping away from the family and officially separating from Kody, after mounting tension over the way he treated his fourth wife, Robyn, came to a head.

“That was a really hard conversation to watch,” Gwendlyn said of the conversation, sharing what she thought about her mom making the decision to leave Kody and move from Flagstaff, Arizona to Salt Lake City, Utah.

‘I was like, ‘Are you leaving? Good for you!’ She told me she was moving out and divorcing my father at the same time, so I was excited about her,” he stated.

“Obviously I love her and obviously I visit her all the time, but she would go home and I was happy for her.” And she really didn’t love their relationship. And she is doing very well now.

“Inside I was like freaking out, ‘This is amazing, this is good for her.'”

“It’s finally going to be, not free because I wasn’t really trapped, but free is the best word I can honestly use.” He was so happy for her. It was sad to see her stuck in Flagstaff, where she was not thriving as she would have hoped she would be.’

After he finished watching the episode, he answered a few questions from fans, including one wondering whether watching the show made her feel differently about her father or about Robyn.

“I feel less about Robyn watching this, but I feel like that’s not very fair of me because I really don’t like her as a person,” she said.

So it’s probably not a completely valid answer. But seeing her makes me like her less, for sure.

She also revealed that Kody was trying to work on improving her relationship with some of her children.

‘He is not actively communicating with us. I had to contact him and ask when he is available. But he’s been working on it and I think he’s getting better and over time he’ll get better.

Brown recently opened up about his ex Christine during Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives: One on One, saying he initially thought Christine was playing a game during their breakup.

‘She’s a player. Since we got married [it was] manipulation, pouting, tantrums, just behavioral stuff,” she said during the episode, via People.

The group of lovers of the television lothario was recently reduced to a single spouse, after Meri Brown confirmed their separation after a “spiritual” marriage of 32 years.

Meri, 51, who starred opposite Kody on the hit TLC show alongside their three other spouses, revealed that Kody had made the decision to end their romance.

In a clip from the upcoming special Sister Wives: One on One, obtained by PeopleKody, who recently split from Janelle, says, “I don’t consider myself married to Meri, and if she wanted to go ahead and marry someone else, she wouldn’t argue with me.”

Meri’s separation means Kody has only one wife, his only legal girlfriend, Robyn, whom he married in 2010.

While only one of his four marriages is technically official (having more than one spouse is not legal in the US), Kody, who has said it is “God’s witness” for him to have numerous spouses, calls his other couples their “spiritual wives”.

Kody first rose to fame in 2010, on the show documenting life with his four wives, Meri, Christine, Robyn, and Janelle (who was also his stepsister). He also showed some of the many struggles that come with being married to multiple women at the same time.

Along the way, however, the Mormon reality star and his four wives ran into a series of problems, stemming from jealousy over who Kody liked best and leading to bitter rivalries between the women for his attention, all of which was put on display for the world to see throughout his show’s 17 seasons.
