Sir Paul McCartney look-alike son James showed his support for his father at the London premiere of the Beatles’ documentary If These Walls Could Sing on Monday.

The musician, 45, kept it casual when he stepped out with a guest at the star-studded premiere of the Disney+ documentary at Abbey Road Studios.

James is the only child of the 80-year-old Beatles singer and his late wife Linda McCartney, who also had two daughters, photographer Mary, 52, and designer Stella, 50.

Paul adopted Linda’s daughter, Heather, from a previous relationship and also shares another daughter, Beatrice, 19, with his ex-wife, Heather Mills, whom he divorced in 2008.

Stepping out at the premiere, James cut a relaxed figure in black jeans and a green puffer jacket, which he paired with white sneakers.

He sported his red locks in a tousled natural style and opted for a well-groomed beard for the occasion.

Also in attendance at the premiere were her sister Stella and her father Paul, who dated his wife Nancy Shevell.

If These Walls Could Sing is scheduled for a global release on December 16 on the streaming platform, but has been pushed back to January 6 for UK and Irish viewers.

The Abbey Road Studio story features interviews with stars and intimate access to the facility and was directed by Paul’s daughter Mary.

The film is Mary’s personal love letter to a place that not only fostered the creative work of her father, but also countless of the world’s most talented artists.

The documentary features appearances by stars including Elton John, Noel Gallagher and Paul McCartney, along with archival footage and session tapes.

“These conversations, along with vivid archival footage and session tapes, provide exclusive access to these famous private studios,” according to the film’s synopsis.

Mary said vanity fair of the project: ‘Abbey Road Studios has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up around the corner and have early memories of going to visit my parents while they were filming.

‘The studios felt like a family. The people who worked there had also grown up there, staying for years to be trained and nurtured by the higher generation.

He later played guitar on Sir Paul’s Flaming Pie and Driving Rain records, as well as The Light Comes From Within, a song he recorded with his mother before her death from breast cancer in 1998.

He released his debut single Available Light in 2010 before releasing his first album Me in 2013 and his second, The Blackberry Train, in 2016, both of which were co-produced by his father.

He previously said that he had a goal to be “better than the Beatles”.

“When I got to a certain age, I realized that I was a bit better than other kids at school on the guitar and I took pride and enjoyment in that,” he told the BBC in 2012.
