Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back lyrics on Amazon box make millenials feel old after Gen Z miss joke

Millennials have said they feel like they’re “ready for the urn” after Gen Zers missed a reference to a popular ’90s song on Amazon boxes.

The retail giant embellished the text: “Oh. Mine. God. Becky. Look. Bee. This. Box’ on some of their new packaging.

The catchphrase is a play on Sir Mix-A-Lot’s 1992 smash hit, “Baby Got Back,” which opens with two women saying, “Oh my God Becky, look at her ass.”

Designer Tiffany Hardy, 36, said she was shocked when her 14-year-old stepson didn’t understand the reference.

While others have revealed that their “boomer” parents didn’t get the joke either.

“My 14-year-old stepson saw this Amazon box and was like ‘hahahaha what’s that even about’ and I’d like to announce that I’m now ready for the urn,” North Carolina-based Tiffany wrote on Twitter.

“Exactly the same thing happened to me with my 8-year-old: ‘Mom, why do they put a full stop after every word? That’s not even right.'” added another.

My mother’s name is Becky. She asked me if I was getting boxes that said “Oh My.God.Kelly.”. She thought it was personalized.’ another replied.

‘I’m with you. I have enough firewood in the garage. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory,” another joked.

“Okay, but we older millennials are all laughing so hard at this box,” another commented.

“I’m sorry, but you’re letting him down. My 15 and 19 year old absolutely know exactly what this is about,” one person added.

The influential song has been referenced in dozens of modern hip-hop songs, as well as TV and film, most notably as the subject of an episode of Friends.

The song was heavily sampled in Nicki Minaj’s 2014 hit “Anaconda,” spawning a new generation of listeners.

Lil Wayne also references it in his verse in Drake’s The Motto, which came out in 2012.

Eminem’s Just Lose It also features the song, while Beyonce’s reference to “Becky with the good hair” in her track Sorry, largely considered a reference to her husband Jay-Z cheating on her, is also a nod to the hit.

Others took to Reddit to discuss the packaging, joking, “You know how all the kids love 1992 songs.”

‘I think it’s pretty funny. I think I’m a boomer now,” joked another.

“It’s so old it’s not funny because it’s old, it’s funny because it’s SO old.”

“Amazon Box’s slogans are designed to appeal to their average customer audience, which is mostly 40-year-olds, so this really rings true,” another commented.

“Would kids today understand that reference at all?” said a fourth.
