Sir Jim Ratcliffe submits ‘official offer’ to buy Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has “SUBMITTED an official offer” to buy Manchester United as Britain’s richest man, and a childhood fan of the club, becomes one of two confirmed contenders to take over after the proposal of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group has reportedly submitted an official bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family.

The 70-year-old is the richest man in Britain and has reportedly hired Wall Street giants JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs to advise him on his offer.

and according to AthleticRatcliffe has now made an official offer to buy the club, hoping, according to sources close to the British billionaire, that he can “put Manchester back into Manchester United” if his bid is successful.

The chemical magnate, who is reportedly worth around £13.3bn, was also in the running to buy Chelsea last year. There he submitted a last-minute offer of £4.25bn to buy the London Club in May and is also a season ticket holder at the club.

He was one of the first bidders to announce that he had started the process to buy the football club.

Ratcliffe bought French club Nice for £91m in 2019, two years after buying Swiss outfit FC Lausanne-Sport.
