Sir Bob Geldof, 71, rocks rugged look as he cosies up to glamorous wife Jeanne Marine, 57

Sir Bob Geldof and his wife Jeanne Marine gave a loving performance when they were seen leaving the Colbert restaurant in Sloane Square, London, on Wednesday.

The Boomtown Rats frontman, 71, who has been dating Jeanne since 1996, looked cool for the evening in white jeans and a black zip-up sweater.

He added a pair of black sneakers to his look and paired it with a khaki jacket.

The singer covered his long gray locks with a brown cap and put his arm around his wife as they left the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Jeanne, who is 14 years younger than her husband, looked typically glamorous in white and brown trousers and a white T-shirt.

She added inches to her body with white platform sandals and wore a khaki jacket over it, carrying a small brown bag over her shoulder.

The stunner tied her brunette locks into a sleek ponytail and completed her look with muted makeup.

Bob married TV presenter Paula Yates in 1986 and together the couple had three daughters before divorcing in 1996.

But the singer met French actress Jeanne at a dinner party in 1996, where the singer had fled in a fit of depression due to his divorce from his first wife.

They quickly became inseparable, but remained tight-lipped about their romance and moved in together in London.

Bob has credited Jeanne with helping raise his daughters, Fifi, Pixie, Peaches, as well as his adoptive daughter, Tiger-Lilly – and previously said his kids “wouldn’t have survived” without her.

He’s even paid tribute to her through his music, and in his song 10:15 from his 2002 album Sex Age & Death, Bob sang, “Jeanne saved my soul again last night.”

And when the family tragically lost Peaches in 2014, the Live Aid founder proposed to Jeanne days later — a moment he said “brought air into the room” when Fifi and Pixie were “in agony.”

The French actress first met her future husband briefly in 1990 when he was in the process of recording The Vegetarians Of Love LP.

told Bob Irish independent he was immediately struck by her beauty and said, “She dated an actor. I thought she was a stunning beauty, Brigitte Bardot.’

However, it wasn’t until six years later that Bob and Jeanne started dating after meeting at a dinner party in Paris.

He explained: ‘[Some friends] gave me dinner to help me and invited Jeanne. ‘He’s on his own; you’re single.’ That was the kind of matchmaking thing, I guess. She is really a sweet person. She enabled me to take care of my children.’

In 2000, when Paula, Bob’s ex-wife, died of a heroin overdose, it was he and Jeanne who took in her daughter Tiger-Lily.

Tiger Lily, who was four at the time, already knew the Boomtown Rats star well and had stayed with him regularly as Paula struggled in the years following the death of her partner Michael Hutchence.

Geldof became Tiger’s legal guardian and officially adopted her in 2007, determined to keep her far from the show business spotlight.

However, it was also Jeanne’s influence that helped Tiger through the difficult period.

Gerry Agar previously told DailyMail, “Tiger has been fully raised and completely loved by Bob’s wife Jeanne, so she has such stability.

“They’ve been very strict with her and Tiger is incredibly different from Peaches. She wants to please them.’

Paying tribute to his wife in 2012, Geldof said, “I love Jeanne. You look around between the carnage and you’re still standing.

“And there’s an exceptional and beautiful woman there—and I don’t just mean physically, though she’s breathtaking.”

Speaking of her admiration for her partner in an earlier interview, Jeanne said: ‘I loved his elegance and his Irishness.

“Bob is exactly the kind of man I’ve always been waiting for. He is compassionate, charming, intelligent and handsome on top of that. He’s the most handsome man in the world and I adore him.’

In 2014, another tragedy struck the family when Peaches tragically died of a heroin overdose at her home in Kent.

She is survived by her two sons Astala and Phaedra and husband Thomas Cohen.

It was only days after her funeral that Bob proposed to Jeanne.

Jerry Hall, a friend of the couple, revealed the happy news at the time, telling the Mail: ‘Bob has proposed. She’s over the moon. Jeanne has been a rock and a tower of strength in this. I’m so excited for her I can’t wait to tell someone.’

It was believed the couple had originally planned to walk down the aisle at St Mary Magdalene & St Lawrence Church near their home in Faversham, Kent in August due to its importance to the family.

At the chapel, Bob married Paula Yates in 1986, his daughter Peaches married Thomas Cohen in 2012, and the tragic socialite was buried.

Instead, Bob married his partner of 19 years Jeanne in the South of France. The Irish rocker and French actress tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Rayol Canadel Sur Mer.

U2’s frontman Bono was one of the guests, and Demi Moore, Sarah Ferguson and Richard Branson were also known as some of the high-profile attendees.

Since then, they’ve kept a notoriously low profile, though they’ve made a handful of public outings.
