Single woman who moved from Sydney to London is going on 50 first dates to find a partner
A bachelor who moved to the UK alone from Australia is on a mission to go on ’50 first dates’ to find a partner.
Hannah Zaslawski, 30, moved to London alone from Sydney last year because she ‘had always wanted to’.
In an effort to settle down, explore London and make some connections, Hannah made it her mission to go on 50 first dates.
Hannah, who works in a cafe, dates both men and women and has been on 16 dates so far, including visiting pubs, museums and galleries.
Her mission has given her the perfect opportunity to explore London’s social scene and meet new people – and she says she will remain friends with some of her dates.

Hannah says it’s helped her feel more confident – it’s reminded her to “not settle for people” and taught her what she’s looking for in a partner.
“It started out as a fun thing to do — just to give my friends back home an update on my dating life,” said Hannah.
“I had been talking about doing 50 first dates for a while and my boyfriend encouraged me to go for it.”
Hannah has shared details about her dating life on social media and has gained more than 51,600 followers.
On one of her dates, she went to a man’s house for a drink and was shocked to see that he had nothing in his fridge but “a jar of olives and half a bottle of roses.”

“You can’t even make a cup of tea,” she laughed.
Hannah stormed out on another date drunk after he kept ‘insulting’ her and saying she wasn’t herself.
However, she said the experience was “fun” and most of the people she met were “sweet.”
“Even when a date hasn’t gone too well, everyone has been a nice person who I’ve had a good time with,” said Hannah.
“It’s encouraged me not to hold things in too long — if I have a great date but it’s not going anywhere, I can just chalk it up to a great date and move on.”
The 30-year-old said the experience was “fun” and most of the people she met were “sweet.”
She said that depending on her work schedule, she will go on dates twice a week some weeks, and other weeks no dates at all.
Hannah hopes she doesn’t complete the full 50 first dates before meeting the love of her life and ending her challenge.
“There’s no time frame to complete 50 dates — to be honest, hopefully I don’t make it to 50,” she said.
“When I reach 50, I’m probably the red flag at that point.”
But she said the plan has not only helped her get to know people, but has also boosted her confidence.

She said, “It’s really important to add that at the end of the day, you’re the person you wake up with.
“Going on a lot of dates is good because you’re focused on yourself and not getting caught up in one person — it teaches you not to settle.”
Hannah says that since documenting her dating experiences in London, she has been able to inspire other women.
People have reached out to her to say that seeing her posts has encouraged them to date.
“Dating can be really scary, I’m pretty outgoing, but I’ve had a few people say it encouraged them and made dating seem less scary,” said Hannah.
“The most important thing is to have faith in yourself and remember that the prize is you. It’s not about impressing them – it’s about getting to know each other and having fun.”
