Single US woman vying for second date from a man thanks to his ‘witty’ response when she rejected him for being ‘too nice’
A singleton was left shocked after receiving a nasty string of messages from a man she rejected – but the move may have landed him a new date.
Blair, from the US, told a man she was dating that she didn’t want to see him anymore because he was “too nice”, to which he later responded with a series of creative insults, from “I hope you put popcorn in between teeth’ to ‘I hope you stub your toe’.
The woman, like hundreds online, saw the funny side of the messages and said he may have improved his chances of dating again because she was impressed by his ability to “take direction.”
“Last night I told this genuinely nice man that maybe he was being a little too nice to me, and this is what I woke up to,” Blair said. Posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
She shared a screenshot of the funny messages he sent to prove he wasn’t “too nice” on the first read: “Hey! I only think about you. I hope your day is bad.”

The next message said he hopes Blair stub her toe and feels like she needs to sneeze, but can’t.
“I hope you catch her eye,” he added.
“I hope you get popcorn in your teeth, but I can’t even remember when you ate it.”
Blair’s tweet racked up a whopping 4.9 million views, thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, as many cheered on the man’s hilarious punch.

“It made me laugh, like that’s a damn new thing,” she replied.
‘This is cute and clever. I’m rooting for him,” said another woman, and a man asked, “So does his funnyness outweigh being too nice?”

One person added that he was giving an ‘elite response’, while others encouraged Blair to give the man ‘another chance’.
“No means no but if this was me he just got himself a second date,” one person said to which Blair replied, “I think I’ll keep going out with him I just have to let him fight with me a little . ‘.
Someone said the man’s witty way of proving he wasn’t “too nice” should give him a “fighting chance” and Blair agreed, but she didn’t inform her followers about the ask if the couple has continued their relationship.
