Singing superstar Dean Lewis dishes details on his secret double life as he goes ‘incognito’: ‘No one really cares about me’

Australian singing sensation Dean Lewis has revealed details about his secret ‘double life’.

Despite being a top musician who has had a string of chart-topping hits, Dean, 36, revealed he can still go ‘incognito’ in public and not be recognized by his fans.

‘I’m back in Australia for three weeks. I walk on Manly Beach. Nobody recognizes me,” the singer said on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Thursday.

Host Kyle Sandilands was shocked by the revelation and asked Dean if he ever gets a “double take.”

“No, like no one,” the Be Alright hitmaker said, before hilariously asking Kyle and his co-host Jackie O Henderson what fame was like.

He shared, “As you walk around, guys [Kyle & Jackie O] got paparazzi and stuff like that. How is that? Is it ever cool?’

“It depends on what you’re planning,” Kyle replied. “If you’re just shopping, fine.”

Jackie agreed, saying, “Yes, there are times when you don’t mind and there are times when you do.”

‘When you sneak out of a Meriton at three in the morning with a few models under your arm, it’s hard to explain. Have you had that?’ Kyle asked.

Dean claimed that he never experiences anything close to Kyle and Jackie’s fame.

“But it’s cool because I get to release these songs and play great shows. But no one really cares about me, which is cool,” the musician said.

Kyle expressed disbelief that Dean likes not getting attention.

“Do you like being incognito?” said the shock jock.

‘Yes, because I feel like I’m famous during my shows. And if I leave, no one will care,” he insisted.

The singer rose to fame in 2016 with his hit Waves and found further success with 2019’s Be Alright, which reached number one on the ARIA charts and spent two weeks at the top.

The star recalled that before his rise to fame in 2016, it took him three months to sell out tickets for a show at Sydney’s Factory Theatre, which has an audience capacity of 2,200.

The singer is now playing sold out shows and will tour Australia later this year, starting in October.
