Singer Manuela accuses Taylor Swift of stealing visuals from her visual EP for Anti-Hero music video

Manuela has taken to social media to accuse Taylor Swift of copying ideas from her visual EP for the Anti-Hero music video, which was released Friday.

After watching the video of the 32-year-old pop star, inspired by her “nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts,” Manuela shared footage from both of their videos to point out some striking similarities.

“I’m literally a #swiftie, so it’s both painful and such an honor to ask this question – am I on a mood board?” she captioned the recording, which featured Swift’s video at the top and Manuela’s at the bottom.

In the first few seconds, both women can be seen in the mirror with a clone of itself staring behind them.

Then Manuela and her clone and Swift and hers exchange high fives. Another example was climbing the roofs of their respective houses.

Perhaps one of the most striking similarities is the clones pushing each other; Manuela’s is thrown off a roof, while Swift pushes her other self off a roof.

A coincidence? Manuela's video was released earlier this year, in April 2022, while Swift's debut was made on Friday

Disturbing: After watching the video of the 32-year-old pop star, inspired by her “nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts,” Manuela shared an image of both videos to point out some striking similarities

On Sunday evening, Manuela clarified to her 6,816 Instagram followers that her song was recorded in October 2020, before its release in April 2022.

While referring to producer Sara D’Alessio’s post about working with Swift on the Anti-Hero video over “many months” over the summer, Manuela claims hers was “made first.”

She also posted someone else’s theory that it’s “very possible that an art director referenced this video directly at some point during the production process.”

“As a gambling man, it’s extremely unlikely that all these shots would be interpolated into the same video,” the man insisted.

She also shared a video of Isaac Sagastume, who said it hurt him “to see someone’s work almost taken shot by shot.”

Photographer Naomi Ramirez called on Swift to “please give credit where it is due,” as “there are too many identical shots to be mere coincidence.”

A number of Swift fans jumped to her defense to remind the world that she “cloned herself in MULTIPLE previous videos” (including You Belong With Me, …Ready For It? and Look What You Made Me Do.)

Taylor has made the evil twin/duplicate motif a million times and it has been done by countless artists. Manuela [whoever the hell that is] can sit down,” one tweeted.

“Anti-Hero’s LYRICS literally MATCH the music video, so the MV is definitely based on the song itself,” insisted another on Twitter.

A fourth tweeted: “I’m not trying to be rude, but honestly, the thought of Taylor or anyone on her team coming across a video with barely 1000 views is almost impossible.”
