Simpsons star Nancy Cartwright has been honored by the Church of Scientology for donating more than $21 million to the organization.

The 65-year-old Simpsons star, who is best known as the voice of Bart Simpson, was awarded a trophy late last year for achieving “Patron Excalibur With Honors” status.

Cartwright was photographed at the event at the Fort Harrison Hotel in Clearwater, Florida, along with Scientology CEO David Miscavige.

Speaking in the new issue of Impact of Scientology magazine, Cartwright said, “This was the most beautiful recognition I have ever received in my entire life.”

Cartwright, who voices other characters in the series including Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum and Todd Flanders, converted to the Church in 1991.

She had previously defended the Church after an HBO documentary about Scientology entitled “Going Clear” was released in 2015.

The documentary deconstructed the organization’s background by presenting a history of the group and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

The film alleged that stars, including John Travolta, were forced to stay in Scientology for fear that secrets surrounding their personal lives would be exposed.

Cartwright supported the church, saying, “That movie, I don’t know what to tell you, it’s called Prejudice.

“It’s very irresponsible reporting.”

In 2007, Cartwright received the Scientology Patron Laureate Award after donating $10,000,000 to the church.

Her 2007 donations surpassed those of some of the biggest Hollywood names in the organization, including Tom Cruise.

In 2019, she is said to have achieved “Diamond Laureate With Honors,” indicating that she gave the organization about $17.5 million.

In 2008, trade magazine Variety reported that the Simpsons cast had signed a four-year deal that would increase their salaries.

Variety said Cartwright’s salary would rise to as much as $400,000 per episode.

In the past, the cast has claimed that their wages are relatively low given the huge popularity and success of The Simpsons.
