Simone Biles will take fans behind the scenes of her stunning Olympic success in Paris with new Netflix series
Following her success at the Paris Olympics, Simone Biles is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at her time in Paris with her new Netflix series.
The series ‘Simone Biles Rising’ already released two episodes on Netflix last month, with two more coming this fall.
The episodes already released detail Bile’s time in Tokyo and her road back to top form for Paris.
Two more episodes will feature her legendary performance at this summer’s Olympic Games.
“We’re all going to see her on the field playing. But that’s two hours out of every five or six days, so what’s the rest of the time like?” Producer Katie Walsh told PEOPLE.
Simone Biles’ journey in Paris will be featured in upcoming episodes of her Netflix series
“It was great to be able to be a fly on the wall and kind of experience it through her eyes. I mean, there’s no better person to experience the Olympics with,” Walsh continued.
One of the documentary’s most anticipated moments will be after Biles is officially named to this year’s Olympic team, ahead of her debut in Paris.
“It’s where all the athletes get their swag and all the goodies, and we got to meet her there,” Walsh added. “We got to go through the whole experience with them as they got fitted for the clothes, got the opening and closing ceremony outfits, the jumpsuits that they wear on the podium when they win a medal.”
“They’re getting fitted for their official Olympic rings; everything. It was just fun, especially for this team,” Walsh said.
One of the most amazing things for Walsh was watching all of Team USA’s gymnasts, except Biles, compete in the Olympics for the first time without a pandemic.
Even when Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey traveled to Tokyo for the Olympics three years ago, the process was much stricter.
“They’re all experiencing this for the first time and they’re especially grateful because they knew they missed it three years ago,” Walsh said. “That was a really fun day to be a part of, and Simone is so funny.”
“She laughs and makes everyone laugh and makes fun of the clothes and just goes crazy,” Walsh concluded. “It’s just so nice to spend time with her in that environment, when she doesn’t have the weight of the world on her shoulders at that moment.”
