Simone Biles stuns in a white sequined dress as she and Jonathan Owens attend wedding rehearsal

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens threw an amazing rehearsal dinner and party for family and friends in Mexico on Friday prior to Saturday’s scheduled nuptials.

The Olympian, 26, who legally tied the knot with the NFL star on April 22 in Houston, Texas, was stunning in a white-and-silver strappy gown and silver slingback pumps for the ceremony.

“We had to ‘legally’ get married here in the US as our wedding will be a destination wedding,” the gold medalist explained to a fan on Instagram.

The gold medalist’s hair was styled in straight layers that fell over her back.

Her husband, 27, looked smart in a white short suit.

The groom wore a white T-shirt and sneakers and was adorned with a chunky platinum necklace.

His braided hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

Jonathan was seen walking down the aisle by his mother, Arthurine Cannon, who was dressed in a white sleeveless scoop-neck dress.

The proud mother straightened her long hair and wore silver sandals as she walked on the sand with her son.

She was seen giving him a loving hug as they stood in front of the officiant, before taking a seat in the front row.

Simone’s uncle Paul would officiate at the ceremony.

“Uncle Paul, aka, is going to be the best officiant you’ve ever seen,” the blushing bride wrote in an Instagram story.

Among the guests were fellow gymnasts Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos, Aly Raisman, Maggie Nichols, Madison Kocian, Jordan Chiles and Katelyn Ohashi.

It’s unclear when the two started dating, but they were official when the world champion posted a birthday message to Jonathan on her Instagram Stories, writing: “Happy 25th birthday, hope this year brings you everything you want and more .’

This is evident from an interview with the Wall Street JournalSimone was the one who made the first contact through social media.

“He would say I slipped into his DMs,” she told the outlet in July 2021.

“I saw him, and I thought, ‘Oh, he’s kind of cute,’ so I said ‘hello’… and then I saw he was near Houston, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to meet a week or two later.’

According to Jonathan, he was unaware of his future wife’s athletic stature when they first met.

In the docu-series Simone vs. Herself told Houston Texans safety that it was her “work ethic” that caught his attention.

“I never really looked into gymnastics before I first started talking to her. When I met her I honestly didn’t know who she was.’

That quickly changed when the soccer star became a certified fan.

“The coolest thing for me is witnessing someone who is literally at the top of their sport,” he explained.

“It’s motivating to see that and the impact she has on people. We walked past a group of girls and they were shaking, “Oh my God, it’s Simone!” This is when I kind of knew. Like, okay, yeah, she’s the real deal.”

The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2022, with Simone posting a photo of the proposal and writing, ‘THE EASIEST YES. I can’t wait to spend forever and ever with you, you are everything I dreamed of and more! let’s marry Fiancé.”

Simone kept her fans updated on all the festivities via Instagram Stories, including a video of a huge party after rehearsal with all of her guests dressed in white.

As her parents, Nellie and Ronald Biles, get ready to accompany her down the aisle, her dad made sure to show his pride in his daughter by wearing a shirt that says “Father of the Bride” and the date of Saturday’s ceremony on the front, and “I Loved Her First,” with Simone’s birthday, March 17, 1997, on the back.
