Simone Biles reunites with NFL husband Jonathan Owens following medal controversy at Paris Olympics

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have reunited in the United States after the gymnast’s historic summer in Paris.

Biles made a glorious comeback at the Olympics, winning three more gold medals – and one silver – to cement her place among Team USA’s greatest athletes ever.

Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears, took a break from NFL training camp to support his wife in the crowd in Paris.

Biles and Owens have since returned home after the Games, and on Thursday the gymnast posted a photo of her husband next to the footballer’s English bulldog, Zeus.

Biles had to defend Owens earlier this month after he was criticized by fans for wearing her Olympic gold medal.

After the 27-year-old led the US to victory in the team all-around final β€” along with teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey β€” Owens was photographed with her medal around his neck.

“Every time you step onto the mat you are witnessing history. Congratulations honey, you have become the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Wow!!!! 8 of them!!!! I am so thankful I was there to see it,” he wrote on social media at the time.

Owens has faced criticism from some quarters, with several fans calling his behavior “weird” and content creator Kiera Breaugh even asking him to “take it off” in a video that has been viewed 2.5 million times on TikTok.

But Biles took to social media to defend her husband. β€œThe crazy thing is I put my medal on every family member and took pictures of them,” she wrote.

“So don’t ever make assumptions,” Biles added, “You’re all so f****ng unhappy. Leave us alone.”
