Simon Elrahi: Iconic Australian director and star of Last King of the Cross dies suddenly, sparking an outpouring of grief across the film and TV industry

Beloved Australian film and television director and actor Simon Elrahi has died suddenly, sparking an outpouring of grief.

Mr Elrahi, best known for his roles in Last King of the Cross and Deep Water, worked in Australian television for thirty years.

A graduate of the Actors Center and the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in Sydney, Mr Elrahi had a long list of credits and has been recognized at home and abroad for his work.

His film Joseph’s Lebanese Roll was a finalist at the Los Angeles-based BlueCat screenplay competition and a semi-finalist at the Australia Independent Film Awards in 2019.

His other feature films Understanding Anatomy and Trapped reached the semi-finals of the Boston Screenplay Awards.
