Simon Cowell’s son Eric and Amanda Holden’s daughter Hollie gatecrash Britain’s Got Talent stage to give golden buzzer to Japanese skipping act Haribow

Simon Cowell walked his son Eric and Amanda Holden’s daughter Hollie into the Britain’s Got Talent auditions on Sunday.

Japanese skipping act Haribow took to the stage in the final episode and drove the crowd wild as they begged the judges to give them a golden buzzer – but they had all already been used.

As the crowd’s chants grew louder, Simon said he had “never heard a reaction like this before” before gesturing for his son Eric, 10, to press the button.

“Okay… okay… Go ahead,” Simon said, as Eric and Hollie, 12, jumped to their feet and ran to the judges’ box, sounding the golden buzzer and sending Harbow through to the live semi-finals.

Simon said: ‘That was my son, Amanda’s daughter, egged on by the crowd. We’ll see you in the final, congratulations.’

Haribow, a group of performers from Japan, all between the ages of 22 and 24, performed street dance while jumping on skipping ropes.

The group’s incredible somersaults and tricks won over the crowd, with the cheers becoming so loud that the judges could barely hear their feedback.

Alesha turned to her fellow judges and said “Just carry on” amid the noise, as Bruno Haribow tried to give his opinion on their performance.

But the former dancer struggled to speak over the chants of ‘Push the gold’, turning to the audience and telling them: ‘Listen to me, we can’t do that! We have nothing left.’

“That’s the best you can get,” Simon added. “Sometimes when you watch an audition I think, ‘I really don’t know what to say.’

“If it’s so brilliant, it’s just… words aren’t really necessary.”

The camera panned to Eric, who flew out of his chair excitedly. “Sorry, my son is literally going crazy right now,” Simon said.

It was at this point that Simon asked the crowd if anyone thought Haribow deserved the golden buzzer, resulting in more roars, before letting Eric and Hollie do the honors.

But BGT viewers were divided over the energetic TV moment, with some people enjoying the moment and others not so happy with the extra buzz.

‘Well done Eric and Hollie. Defo well deserved golden buzzer. This act was fantastic compared to some of the tripe that went through it lol,’;

‘Yes, that really happened. The crowd wanted a golden buzzer, so Simon’s son and Amanda’s daughter made it happen for them and thanks to them Haribow jumped his way to the semi-finals,’;

‘I’m glad they have the Golden Buzzer. Haribow was incredible!’; ‘Aww Simon’s son Eric,’;

‘Amanda’s daughter didn’t hesitate for a second. Simon said, ‘Go ahead,’ and she said, ‘I’m working on it.’

But others didn’t understand the point of another golden buzzer, saying, ‘This show is a joke now that some overprivileged kids are getting a golden buzzer’;

‘Oh so anyone can press the golden buzzer now’; ‘They can’t make their kids do a buzzer, this is insane’;

‘What is happening? I do not understand. Does Eric have a golden buzzer now?’;

‘Do judges’ children now also get golden buzzers? Honestly, what’s the point of that format. Actually the whole format of the show is so plastic/boring and now that it’s in the bin it’s unreal.”
