Simon Cowell’s ever changing face: Top surgeon reveals what he thinks the music mogul has REALLY had done as he turns 65

A top surgeon has pored over Simon Cowell’s ever-changing face after the music mogul turned 65 on Monday.

In recent years, Simon’s performances have become as much of a talking point as his hit TV shows, with fans commenting on his radical transformation.

In 2019, Simon admitted that he had a “21st century facelift” and “too much Botox” before his 60th birthday.

He gave himself a massive makeover and said the procedure ‘hurt like hell’ as he revealed other methods he had turned to before reversing it.

As Simon turns 65, Professor Ullas Raghavan, a renowned cosmetic surgeon at Pall Mall Medical, has given his take on Simon’s age-defying face.

In recent years, Simon’s performance has become as much of a talking point as his hit TV shows, with fans commenting on his radical transformation (pictured in August)

In the 1980s, Cowell was far from the polished, neat TV mogul we know today.

He worked behind the scenes in the music industry and had a youthful, natural appearance with a fuller face, unstyled hair and his own teeth.

By the early 2000s, when Pop Idol and American Idol made him famous, his style had honed.

Simon was known for his casual wardrobe of black T-shirts and jeans, but his face still showed the signs of natural aging, with subtle lines and a softer jawline.

Fast forward to the 2010s, and his appearance began to change dramatically. Simon’s face appeared more sculpted, with fuller cheeks and a smoother forehead.

This transformation led to a wave of speculation about the cosmetic procedures he may have undergone.

Professor Raghavan suggests that Simon could have opted for different procedures to maintain his youthful appearance.

‘From what we have seen over the years, Simon may have had Botox injections to smooth out wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes,’ Professor Raghavan told MailOnline.

‘The fuller cheeks could indicate fillers to restore the volume that naturally decreases with age. This would give his face a more youthful and fuller appearance, counteracting the natural hollowing that occurs over time.”

Professor Raghavan also speculates that the Britain’s Got Talent judge has undergone additional cosmetic procedures to improve his appearance.

‘He may have had a facelift to tighten the sagging skin around his jawline, giving him a more defined and sculpted look. I wouldn’t be surprised if he also had a face and neck lift, as well as a brow lift, which would raise his eyebrows and open his eyes, making him look fresher and more alert.

‘A blepharoplasty (blepharoplasty) would likely have helped rejuvenate the area around his eyes, by removing excess skin or fat from the upper or lower eyelids. This would smooth out any bags under the eyes or drooping clothes and further contribute to the youthful transformation we’ve seen in Simon over the years.’

In 2019, Simon admitted he had a non-surgical facelift, but did not say when, saying the procedure ‘hurt like hell’ (2019 photo)

“When facial injectables are overused, they can reduce mobility and create a ‘stiff’ appearance, especially around the eyes and mouth,” said Prof. Raghavan

Photos taken over the years suggest that Simon began receiving Botox injections starting around 2009.

In 2019, Simon admitted he had the facelift but didn’t say when, saying the procedure “hurt like hell.”

He told The Sun he visited cosmetic surgeon Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, known as the ‘Picasso of dermatology’, for a Silhouette Soft Lift.

He underwent a non-surgical facelift using ‘bioplastic-infused sewing thread’, which set him back £2,000.

Simon explained: ‘For me now it’s all about clear skin. When you have clear skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some things.’

‘There are many things you can do now. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox. It hurts like hell, but it removes the sun damage and gets all the junk out of the socket.”

In 2019, Simon lost 20 pounds after adopting a vegan diet and embracing a healthier lifestyle. As his physique slimmed down, his face became a talking point among fans who asked, ‘What the hell happened to your face?’.

‘If facial injectables are overused they can reduce mobility and create a ‘stiff’ appearance, especially around the eyes and mouth, something we have noticed with Simon in recent years,’ says Prof Raghavan.

Simon once claimed that having Botox added ‘ten years’ to his TV career, but he regrets going too far with the procedure.

He said: ‘Hopefully I look better now. I probably had a little too much Botox a few years ago because everyone on TV has it.

‘Now I have facials, but nothing extravagant at the moment. I have a girl who comes here and gives a great facial massage – it’s very relaxing. I also had a sheep placenta facial once, which was quite excessive.”

Now in his mid-60s, Simon’s face has taken on a more natural, yet youthful appearance.

Professor Raghavan speculates that Simon could be able to maintain his appearance with more subtle, regular, non-invasive treatments, such as laser skin resurfacing and skin tightening procedures.

“He seems to have found a balance where he’s still addressing the signs of aging, but not overdoing it,” he said.

‘As Simon Cowell marks his 65th birthday, his transformation over the years reflects not only the pressure to stay young in the entertainment industry, but also the fine line between improvement and excess.’

MailOnline has contacted Simon’s representatives for comment.
