Simon Cowell was made unrecognisable by Good Morning Britain viewers when they urged him to ‘stop having Botox’ after an appearance on the show on Wednesday.

The 64-year-old music mogul appeared on the morning show in a pre-recorded interview with entertainment host Richard Arnold.

During the conversation he talked about his plans to find a new boy band and that he would be holding auditions at the Atlantic Pavilion in Royal Albert Dock over the weekend as part of the search.

But it wasn’t his plans for a boy band that had people talking on social media, but his unusual appearance.

Many urged him to ‘stop the Botox’ after seeing his appearance and wondered: ‘What has he done to his face!’

Last year, the head of a talent show admitted he had taken his love of Botox too far, leaving him looking like “someone from a horror movie” after his latest treatment.

Simon said he decided to quit when his strange appearance left his 10-year-old son Eric in hysterics.

The former X Factor judge, who has a son with his partner Lauren Silverman, 46, revealed he no longer has fillers in his face as a result.

Simon spoke on GMB on Wednesday about his search for a new boy band: ‘I’m looking for another band, because there isn’t one yet.

‘I mean, there are K-pop bands, but if we’re talking about British bands like One Direction, there haven’t been any in all this time.

“They don’t come to your door, so there’s only one way to do it: you have to go into town and hope that people show up and audition.

“We thought we would document everything so you can see whether it works or not.”

Richard asked, ‘Why a boy band specifically?’ Simon explained, ‘I thought we could either do a boy band or a girl band and I thought, let’s start with a boy band.’

He then asked Simon, “What’s the audition process like?”

Simon then explained, “I didn’t want to just set it up, because here’s an agency that we’ve created that we’re going to sit behind or the singer is going to find other singers. It’s much more about the people that I’ve worked with over the years that have had a lot of success and they’re there to help me.”

He continued: ‘I won’t lie, I’m nervous – nervous like on a roller coaster.

“You know there’s going to be ups and downs and you’re going to be terrified. The thought of this not working and that’s really scary. I’m going to be really disappointed.”

He concluded the interview by adding: ‘There’s a reason to do this. I think it’s time for Britain to have a successful band again.’
