Simon Cowell introduces a SHOCK rule violation in BGT after ‘amazing’ act moved judges to tears

Britain’s Got Talent saw a shocking plot twist on Saturday night after Simon Cowell broke the show’s strict rules.

Dance troupe Unity put on an incredible show, with the head judge, 63, calling them “amazing.”

The college buddies, aged 16 to 25, impressed judges Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon with their impeccable choreography and synchronized dance moves.

But most powerful of all was the incredible message behind their performance – called ‘I will’, showing the importance of embracing who they are.

A member of the group, who has Down syndrome, started the dance as the center of the group.

Powerful: Dance troupe Unity, aged between 16 and 25, delivered a flawless routine with an incredible message

In between moments of passionate dancing to The Village by Wrabel, other members of the group came forward with messages of their own.

One star named Declan exclaimed, “I’m Declan and labels don’t define me. I push gender boundaries, but don’t allow discrimination to change who I am.

“They’re trying to label me. They say I can’t be who I am, but I will.’

There was an emotional hug between Steph and Libby, who said they had “constant eyes” on them since coming out.

Junior was bullied for loving dance growing up, admitting to being beaten up and yelled at, while Kiera was assaulted for her size.

The judges and audience members were moved to tears by the emotional performance, with even notoriously stern judge Simon appearing teary-eyed.

The routine was clearly one that would normally get a golden buzzer and the crowd started singing for it.

But Simon had already used his golden buzzer – of which judges are only allowed to use one per season.

Bruno had also used two buzzers – after not realizing he was only allowed to use one.

Simon said, “I thought you were actually amazing. The way you delivered your message was so strong.’

“Look, we’re out of gold buzzers.”

The group seemed momentarily disappointed with the news, but Simon was still talking.

He continued, “But sometimes I just feel like you have to break the rules!”, dramatically pressing the button as gold sparkles rained down on the ecstatic group.

Dec yelled, “I don’t even remember what’s going on” in the chaos of the moment as Simon introduced the series’ seventh golden buzzer.

Viewers at home were also moved to tears, with one saying, “I SOBB. that was so beautiful and damn powerful, while a second added: ‘I sure cry for Britain’s got talent.’

A third tweeter said, “Unity is absolutely the best thing I’ve seen in a long time, moved me to tears. Brilliant talent and a beautiful message. I hope this is the future.’

Britain’s Got Talent airs at 8pm on ITV.
