Simon Cowell and his fiancée Lauren Silverman made a rare public appearance with their son Eric during the live finale of America’s Got Talent on Wednesday.

The music mogul, 63, and his socialite girlfriend, 46, doted on their son Eric, nine, as they posed with their arms around him on the red carpet ahead of the final.

Simon looked dapper in a gray T-shirt and faded blue jeans, which he teamed with a black blazer and smart slippers.

His fiancée Lauren looked as glamorous as ever in a strappy maxi dress and heeled sandals as she posed with her arm around her son.

Eric was seen playfully trying on his dad Simon’s orange glasses on the red carpet, as the family all posed for sweet snaps together.

Hurricane and his owner Adrian Stoica were crowned winners of the 18th series of America’s Got Talent after Tuesday’s star-studded live final.

Their double act won the $1 million prize and the chance to headline a show in Las Vegas, much to the delight of the crowd.

Simon’s rare appearance with his son comes after the doting dad shared that he would like to see Eric take over his position as head judge on America’s Got Talent.

However, it seems that his child already has his sights set on becoming a superstar singer, rather than the person who judges the talent of others.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Simon admitted that Eric is already learning the ropes when it comes to finding promising entertainers.

“Trust me, he’s in training,” he said. “He sits and watches the shows with me before they go out and I don’t ask him, but I watch his reaction because kids don’t lie.”

He continued, “When they’re bored, they’re bored, and when they’re interested in something, they’re… And that actually really helped me. I hope he does what I do.”

He also talked about how his son is keen to be in the spotlight, with Simon adding: ‘HHe’s said the dreaded words, “Dad, can I audition for you? And I’m like, ‘Oh, no!’

‘He wants to be in a band. He likes Green Day,” Simon laughed. “So I’m like, ‘We’ll have this conversation later.’ He’s going to do what he wants to do.’

Simon made it clear that his son would never receive special treatment if he auditioned for his father.

Eric is guaranteed to receive the same harsh criticism that helped Simon become a household name thanks to his time as a judge on TV shows.

Simon explained: ‘I told him, “If you’re not good, you’re not going to be on the show.

‘And that means you have to rehearse. Sorry, you have to take a lot of classes, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”

Simon welcomed his son Eric in 2014 with fiancée Lauren, 45, who he is set to marry after leaving his single life behind to walk down the aisle.

American socialite Lauren also has a son Adam, 16, from her previous relationship with businessman Andrew Silverman.

Simon proposed to Lauren on Christmas Eve in Barbados in front of their son, and it was previously claimed the couple would like the youngster ‘front and centre’ at the ceremony.
