Silicon Valley tycoon who fundraised for Obama says Biden is ‘out of touch and asleep at the wheel’ as she backs Trump – and is selling more than $1 million in Democrat collectibles including JFK’s rocking chair

A formerly liberal Silicon Valley tycoon says she has given up on the Biden administration and is supporting Donald Trump as she tries to sell some expensive Democratic collectibles.

Allison Huynh, 48, is co-created by AI and robotics designers Willow Garage, who were purchased by Google. She also built many of the early e-commerce websites.

Huynh, a Vietnamese immigrant who attended Stanford on a full scholarship, claims she and her ex-husband and longtime Google programmer Scott Hassan helped Big Tech get excited about Barack Obama in 2008.

She now claims Joe Biden is “out of touch” and is supporting Donald Trump as an “independent” in 2024.

Huynh is so committed to changing her politics that the Democratic collectibles she once bought out of her enthusiasm for Obama — a rocking chair that belonged to John F. Kennedy, the art for Shepard Fairey’s famous HOPE posters — are now sold.

‘I’m cleaning the house. I was a lifelong liberal and Democrat, but if the things aren’t serving us right now, it’s best to move on and let other people enjoy the items. They don’t mean much to me right now,” she told the newspaper New York Post.

Huynh — who bought the poster for about $1 million and the chair for $100,000 — gets credit from Google co-founders Sergey Brin, Larry Page and Eric Schmidt who joined Team Obama in fundraising efforts in 2008 for somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000 per plate .

She shares the same kind of disappointment with these tech leaders as she did with the Obama presidency.

‘Obama started with an ambitious message that appealed to me; it was about equality and women and minorities; Biden projected the image of being cool and hip,” she said.

‘But where are we now? Immigrants come into our country and commit crimes. . . Big Tech follows you and knows everything about you. But if you have a problem with something [tech] service, you can never get hold of anyone.”

She seems to have been turned against Democrats by much of what has happened in recent years, from COVID to the liberal policy awakening in big cities to immigration.

She recently visited the former president at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida for a fundraiser and was charmed.

‘I was surprised when I met Donald Trump. He was light and funny and intelligent. The people there were down to earth,” she said.

She described Trump, 78, as “well informed” and understanding of the issues that matter most to her.

Her adopted home of San Francisco shows her the shortcomings of unchecked liberalism.

“We have heroin addicts shooting in public, violent attacks on Asians in Chinatown and looting of our supermarkets and shopping malls,” she said, calling the city “a failed science experiment for super-left ideas and ideals.”

Huynh, who made headlines with her nasty divorce from Hassan in 2020 in 2021, came to the United States from Saigon in 1982 after her pilot father legally immigrated in 1975.

She says Democrats’ refusal to address illegal immigration is a major reason for her change in tune.

“I’m all for hard-working immigrants, but not for open admission of immigrants. “We need to distinguish between legal immigrants who come here and work hard and illegal immigrants who come here and commit crimes,” she said.

Huynh adds that Democrats have completely missed the boat when it comes to addressing COVID, especially for people like them who live in big cities.

“The Republicans were smarter. They wanted to see who got sick. Young people suffered the most, even though they were at little risk. We had lazy policies in California,” she said.

“Many of the super liberal tech billionaires left the country for private islands, superyachts and estates in New Zealand,” she added.

While Biden is “out of touch,” she says Trump absolutely will be after meeting him.

‘His rhetoric is entertaining. But the policies and politics make sense. I think Trump is involved. I would like to hang out with Trump. He’s a really cool guy.’
