She said she ended up having an emergency C-section, despite initially planning a water birth.
Sian explains: ‘I said I would do whatever was safest for the baby’s delivery.
‘I planned a water birth, but ended up having an emergency caesarean section. I felt so safe that I was in great hands. The midwives are really great, but of course I feel quite stiff.’
Of her supportive partner Jake, she added: ‘He’s such a natural – you really fall in love with your partner all over again. He took over when necessary.
‘He supported me when I needed it and when I was emotional.’
Sian shared her happy baby news on Instagram on Saturday, along with a bunch of adorable snaps, writing: ‘Our little Ruby [love heart emojis]’.
Sian posted a photo of her daughter wearing a beige knitted cardigan with her name on it.
Before her announcement, Sian was spotted taking a stroll with the new toddler in her arms as she stepped outside for a walk with Jake.
She said: ‘I’m tired, overjoyed, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m completely freaked out!’
She added: “I’m loving every second of it, even though it’s a bloodbath at times. Jake was filming me holding her and I said, “I can’t believe I’m meeting you, it feels like a dream!”
Sian announced live on Capital Air in February that she was expecting her first child with her fiancé Jake
Sian carried her daughter in a sling as she soaked up the first few days of motherhood.
The new mother looked overjoyed as she walked out the door in a stylish black and white striped tracksuit from Adidas.
Sian is yet to reveal the details of when she gave birth to her newborn on social media.
The couple couldn’t keep the smiles off their faces as they walked hand in hand.
Earlier this month, Sian confirmed that Jordan North will replace her as This Morning’s showbiz correspondent while she went on maternity leave.
The TV star marked her final day with the announcement when she admitted: “I think I pushed it as far as I could before I popped.”
During her final appearance on the ITV daytime show before she gives birth to a baby girl, host Ben Shephard said: “First up, it’s time for some showbiz news, Sian’s here, for your very last date with us before you go to pop.”
Sian replied: ‘Yes exactly, and I think I pushed as far as I could without giving birth on this couch!’
She continued: ‘I know that showbiz news needs to be left in good hands and to someone who deals with showbiz stories every morning and works alongside me most mornings when I’m on the radio…
‘This is the transfer of all transfers! I really think this is the perfect man for this job. I work with him every morning and he is fantastic. It’s all Jordan North!’
Jordan, 34, then joined Ben, co-host Cat Deeley and Sian in the studio and said: “I’ve got a new shirt and everything for this!”
Ben joked: ‘This is the transference in show business, just like the relay!’ Sian joked: ‘This is like the baton at the Olympics.’
Cat said to Jordan, “We’ll make sure you get an extra plate of food every week!”
Jordan added: ‘Absolutely, I’m just a substitute for the summer, that’s all.’
Sian told Ben and Cat: ‘I’m so glad it’s Jordan. You’re brilliant and he’s the perfect man for the job, we have so much fun at Capital.’
At the end of the program, the presenting duo Ben and Cat gave the expectant mother a baby suit as a gift, which she seemed very happy with.
While Jordan will replace Sian on This Morning, Kemi Rodgers will take over her seat on Capital Breakfast.

Sian then said: ‘I think I actually want to share something with the group now.
“Seriously, guys: I have a little announcement for you. I am pregnant! I don’t know how I managed to keep it from you for so long, but it’s no joke.
