A former real estate agent has been jailed for 15 months for possession of methamphetamine, with her mother storming out of court as the verdict was read out.
Siahn Cynthia Curran faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday, three years after she was fired from her dream job at Ray White following a previous brush with the law.
The 31-year-old was already on probation for supplying drugs when police approached her at the Prince Consort Hotel in Fortitude Valley last January.
She had in her possession 10 grams of methamphetamine, which was for personal use Courier mail reported.
Curran pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a schedule 1 drug in an amount at or more than schedule 3 but less than schedule 4.

“My client had a good upbringing, but unfortunately she struggles with an addiction,” said her lawyer Trent Playford.
‘She started using ecstasy while partying and that eventually led to a more serious addiction, in this case to methamphetamine and GHB.’
Curran, who is originally from Melbourne but moved to Queensland in 2017, worked in the property industry for five years.
But her life took a turn for the worse in 2020 when she split with her long-term partner and went on a 12-day drug binge that saw her arrested three times and fired from her job at Ray White.
In August 2020, Curran pleaded guilty to five charges and was sentenced to 14 months’ probation with a recorded conviction and banned from driving for three and a half years.
Magistrate Jennifer Batts said at the time that Curran was lucky not to seriously injure anyone while driving erratically and taking drugs.
Three years later, Mr Playford told the court she was in rehab, ‘has a lot of potential and she is trying to kick her addiction and really trying, she has had a number of setbacks which are so evident from her recidivism’.

The barrister asked the court not to jail his client, but Magistrate Judith Daley pointed out Curran had been found with a ‘significant’ amount of meth.
“You have returned to rehabilitation, but I am not convinced that you will remain there after today’s sentencing because your pattern is very mixed in relation to rehabilitation,” she said.
Curran will be eligible for parole on February 25.
