Gunmen open fire on a home during an early morning shooting – as residents miraculously escape without injury

Two young men have been awakened by the sound of gunfire at their home in western Sydney.

Emergency services were called to a home in Mena Way, Bidwill shortly after 2am Monday morning.

Police were told three shots had been fired at the house and another two at a car parked in the driveway.

Three men wearing black hoodies were seen nearby at the time, while a black Holden Commodore was seen driving away shortly after shots were fired.

Two men aged 22 and 30 who were present in the home were unharmed.

Mount Druitt Police cordoned off a crime scene and an investigation has been launched.

Several police vehicles remained at the scene Monday morning.

Police are investigating whether the shooting is linked to a car that caught fire in nearby Penrith a few hours later.

The car is being examined forensically.
