Shoppers can now buy a tiny home at Amazon’s rival retail store – and it’s much cheaper

If you’re in the market for a new home, look no further than Walmart’s tiny house, which has a much cheaper price tag than Amazon’s.

Just months after Amazon started offering stylish pop-up homes, Walmart has started selling tiny homes at a significantly lower price than the tech giant.

One in particular, the 60-by-20-foot “Mobile Expandable Plastic Prefab House” from Chery Industrial, will cost you $15,900 from Walmart with free shipping.

The same house was listed on Amazon for a lower initial price of $14,999, but with shipping costs of $4,999.

Although both companies offer delivery, at different prices, both companies ask those ordering the homes to have a crane ready to unload the truck that delivers the home.

The same type of house, at 15 by 6 feet, will cost you $13,499 at Walmart with free shipping, and a whopping $22,899 at Amazon with $999 shipping.

However, those looking for the best price should look directly at the manufacturer.

Chery Industrial has the 15-by-6-foot version listed, which is currently on sale for $11,999, down from its original price of $23,000.

These homes are equipped with a shower and bathroom room, cupboards and door locks.

However, you will need to provide furniture and land to build the house on, a foundation, a power source and a water supply.

Another two-bedroom tiny house from Amazon was recently listed for $19,000, with a shipping charge of $989.01.

It features an open-plan living room and kitchen, and a bathroom with toilet and shower. It also had a boiler, plumbing and electricity.

The low cost of these types of homes became popular as younger generations resisted rising home prices and mortgage rates.

Current 30-year fixed mortgage rates are around 5.8 percent, creating a barrier for those hoping to climb the property ladder.

According to the Federal Reserve, about 64 percent of American adults own their own home. This figure drops to 36 percent for those earning $50,000 a year or less.

Tiny homes are becoming increasingly popular as home prices continue to reach record highs.
