Shooting at a gathering in Baltimore leaves 1 dead and 7 others wounded, police say

BALTIMORE — One person has been killed and seven others injured in a shooting at a rally in Baltimore, police said.

It appears “multiple people opened fire” just after 8 p.m. Sunday night in East Baltimore, Police Chief Richard Worley told reporters.

“Officers located multiple victims and multiple firearms at the scene,” Worley said.

A 36-year-old man died in the shooting, Worley said. The wounded were in critical condition for the stable, Worley said, and they ranged in age from 22 to 45, according to preliminary information.

The identity of the deceased man was not immediately released. The shooting was under investigation Monday.
