Shokz introduces OpenFit 2 headphones with improved audio, improved controls and 11 hours of battery life

Shokz, maker of some of the best bone conduction and best running headphones in the industry, has unveiled the successor to its excellent Shokz OpenFit headphones, the Shokz OpenFit 2.
Building on the successful formula of the previous model, the Shokz OpenFit 2 are open-ear true wireless earbuds that provide solid audio while keeping your ear canals open. Like bone conduction headphones, Shokz open-ear earbuds are popular among runners, cyclists, and outdoor adventurers because they allow you to stay in tune with your surroundings so you can stay safe while you exercise.
For 2025, the Shokz OpenFit 2 features updated audio and an improved operating system. They’re available now in the US, priced at $179.95 – a launch date and prices for the UK and Australia are yet to be confirmed.

Shokz OpenFit 2: the details
Shokz’s OpenFit 2 features the company’s new DualBoost technology, which has two individual speakers per earbud, one for bass and one for high frequency. The separation allows for “more refined musical details”, according to Shokz. Combined with the OpenBass 2.0 technology, this should make for a pretty lush listening experience, and a solid upgrade over the original OpenFit.
The earbuds are designed for comfortable all-day wear and offer 11 hours of battery life on a single charge. They have a slightly modified spiral design and the ear hook is made of more flexible material for safety and comfort. Each button also weighs less than 10 grams.
Also new in the OpenFit 2 is an upgraded operating system with physical buttons and touch controls. Features include song skipping, play/pause and call answering. Dual microphones and noise-cancelling technology ensure that the latter helps with conversational audio.
