Shohei Ohtani ‘was a victim of fraud and his interpreter will be CHARGED’ after federal authorities investigated gambling scandal that rocked $700m LA Dodgers star

Shohei Ohtani will be officially cleared of any wrongdoing in the investigation conducted by federal authorities into the gambling scandal that rocked the Los Angeles Dodgers star’s $700 million star.

According to TMZ SportsOhtani is a victim of fraud and his translator Ippei Mizuhara could be indicted any day. The New York Times says Mizuhara is in negotiations to plead guilty.

He was fired by the Dodgers in March over allegations that he stole $4.5 million to pay debts to illegal bookmakers. The investigation began shortly afterwards, about three weeks ago, and it now appears that the 29-year-old Japanese star will be fully exonerated.

TMZ’s report on Wednesday night adds that Ohtani was not involved in any wrongdoing and never had any connection to gambling or bookmaking.

Ohtani, who joined the Dodgers in the baseball offseason for a record 10-year contract worth $700 million, has always denied doing anything wrong.
