Shocking reason wealthy wife ‘shot and killed her husband at $1M mansion as he slept’
Police say a woman fatally shot her National Guard husband after he confronted her about having an affair.
Jennifer Gledhill, 41, has reportedly admitted to shooting her husband Matthew Johnson in the head last month as he slept in their $1 million home in Cottonwood Heights, Utah – but has yet to reveal where she buried his body.
The mother of three was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of Johnson, 51, a Utah National Guard staff sergeant who was reported missing on Sept. 23 after failing to show up for work.
Police were tipped off about Gledhill after a man claiming to be having an affair with her contacted police in the Salt Lake City suburb.
The informant told police she admitted to killing her husband after he confronted her about the extramarital affair on September 20. ABC4.

Gledhill claimed she shot Johnson the next day while he slept, the informant said.
She allegedly put Johnson’s body in a rooftop storage area and cut it from the stairs to the back of her minivan.
Gledhill then destroyed Johnson’s phone and drove his truck to another part of their neighborhood before driving his body north and burning him in a shallow grave, police said.
The informant told police that Gledhill “she assumed he would be just like her and that if her friend told her a hypothetical story, she would say, ‘Let me get my shovel!’ and take the information to her grave.”
A witness reportedly told detectives that they saw Gledhill’s relatives cleaning her house until 11pm on September 24 – three days after the alleged murder.
One of Gledhill’s relatives told police they bought her a new mattress after she requested one.

Jennifer’s parents, Rose and Ted Gledhill, said they are now struggling to break the tragic news to the couple’s three children that their mother allegedly killed their father.
Police say when they searched Gledhill’s home, they found a brand new mattress, as well as “reddish-brown stains” on the wall and bed frame and bleach stains on the stairs.
Gledhill’s parents previously told DailyMail.com that they struggled to break the tragic news to the couple’s three children that their mother had killed their father.
“The three children are living with us for the time being,” her father Ted Gledhill told DailyMail.com exclusively.
‘They are doing well, but my wife and I haven’t told them everything yet.
“We told them their father is missing and the police are questioning their mother because they think she might know something about it.”
A court date has not yet been set for Gledhill’s first court appearance and she remains in jail without bond.
