A new report shows that a large majority of officials in the Biden-Harris administration have little or no business experience. That includes Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee.
The report, prepared by economists Stephen Moore and Jon Decker for the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, analyzed the resumes of 66 top government officials involved in economic policy, regulation, trade, energy and finance.
Fifty-eight percent have “almost” no business experience, the report found, while only 12 percent of officials have “extensive” business experience and 30 percent have “some” business experience.
The report, subtitled “Amateur Hour,” reveals a serious weakness in the Biden-Harris team, suggesting a link between the lack of business experience in government and four years of bad economic news for Americans.
The Committee to Unleash Prosperity is committed to promoting government policies that stimulate economic prosperity, including supply-side economics.

The report also points out that Harris’ advisers lack the business credentials they need, which they say is one of the reasons her policy agenda is so radical.
“Her calls for price controls, stricter regulations and higher corporate tax rates only reinforce our concerns about her team’s understanding of how the economy works,” the report concludes.
Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have virtually no business experience.
The report specifically singles out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for only serving as mayor of South Bend before taking charge of a $1 trillion industry and receiving significant funding from the Biden administration to finance infrastructure.

Other senior officials accused of a lack of business experience include Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
One exception to the team is President Biden’s new chief of staff, Jeff Zients, who has experience in venture capital, technology and health care.
However, the agency has serious concerns about the future of a Harris-led government, warning that it is likely that inexperienced officials will continue poor economic policies.
“When it comes to government, ignorance is not bliss,” the study concludes. “These skills are lacking only in the Biden-Harris administration. The flood of policy and management failures piling up in the Biden-Harris administration are at least partly a result of this lack of basic skills and competence.”
