Controversial streamer IShowSpeed has vowed never to return to Norway after he was mobbed by hordes of fans as he tried to escape from a building after injuring his ankle during a performance.
The gamer, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is in Europe for the 2024 European Football Championship.
The terrifying incident began when Watkins stood in the window of a souvenir shop and encouraged the crowd in the street, trying to get them to chant “Siu,” a slogan associated with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
As the crowd grew more excited, Watkins imitated the Portuguese striker’s goal celebration, which involved jumping and spinning in the air. He landed awkwardly after landing, injuring his ankle. “I think I’ve broken my ankle,” he shouted.
A later clip shows Watkins being carried out of the building by an attendant and into an SUV as fans mob him. At least one person can be seen grabbing him by the hair, another throwing a liquid he claims is urine at him, and another jumping on him from a car in professional wrestling style.

Shortly afterwards, a shocked Watkins took to his social media pages to let his Norwegian fans know that, as much as he loves them, he would not be returning to the country.
In a video taken just as Watkins arrived at the car, he confronted the man who jumped on him. ‘It’s not f***ing funny bro! You’re not even f***ing listening. I promise, by God, I’m never coming to this f***ing country.’
In a more somber video, recorded in the car as he sped away from the scene, Watkins reflected on what had happened, calling it “the worst day of [his] to live.’
“My ankle is broken, they pulled my hair out. They threw water at me. Someone literally did a WWE Rey Mysterio move and jumped off the car. It was the scariest day of my life. I promise you. I couldn’t even breathe,” he said.
In a later video, Watkins said the substance thrown at him was “p***.”
“They pulled my hair out and pissed on me three times and some random guy jumped on my car and started pissing. No, I’m fucking pissing.”
It was also a bad week for the streamer. Just days earlier, he was left speechless when his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, missed a penalty in Portugal’s win over Slovenia.
“I’ve never seen him miss a penalty in my life,” Watkins said after he had collected himself. “I’ve never seen him miss a penalty in my life.”
His comments barely drowned out the shouts of “Messi, Messi, Messi” that could be heard from spectators in the fan park where he was attending the match.

Watkins started his YouTube channel under the name IShowSpeed in 2016 from his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. He rose to fame for his gameplay of FIFA, Fortnite, and Roblox.
His violent outbursts made him a star on TikTok, and he gained wider fame when he launched a music career and appeared with World Wrestling Entertainment.
That’s despite a flurry of controversy, including allegations that he made a rape threat against fellow streamer Ash Kash, which led to him being banned from Twitter from 2021 to 2023.
