Shocking moment when woman in dressing gown is shot dead by LAPD after wandering the city hitting strangers on the head with a BARBELL
A woman dressed in a bathrobe was shot dead by Los Angeles police officers last month after attacking strangers with a 12-inch metal bar.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect, identified as Jessica Brown, 33, walking along Reseda Boulevard and Hatteras Street, holding the gun as she punched each victim in the head on July 9.
West Valley Patrol Division officers responded after learning that four people had been attacked and each suffered serious head and facial injuries.
When the police arrived, they met Brown at a gas station parking lot at the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Burbank Boulevard, armed with a metal pipe.
A taser was deployed and a 40mm foam baton fired as she lunged at the officers, she was later hit by gunfire. Brown was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced dead there.
West Valley Division Police Officer II, Kyle Golveo, was the officer involved in the incident, officials said. It remains unclear whether Golveo is still working, but the matter is under investigation.
The suspect in the July 9 attacks was identified as 33-year-old Jessica Brown

A day after the unprovoked attack, additional investigations revealed that Brown was a suspect in similar incidents that occurred on July 9.
A mother and child were in a parked car when the suspect smashed the windows. Two men were also beaten yesterday with a similarly described weapon, one to the head causing a cut and the other to the arm. Both refused medical treatment,” the press release said.
No officers were injured in the encounter.
Officials said this is an ongoing investigation, as detectives will review body-worn videos, any surveillance videos, and interview witnesses and officers involved.
The department added that the facts and circumstances may change as additional evidence is collected and analyzed.
An update on the case was released showing that the LAPD’s Specialized Force Investigation Division was responding to the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and overseeing evidence gathering by Forensic Science Division staff, officials said in a release.
The full investigation will be reviewed by the Chief of Police, the Board of Police Commissioners and the Office of the Inspector General to determine the thoroughness and accuracy of the investigation and whether the use of deadly force was in accordance with the police’s policies and procedures.
