Shocking moment when two men storm into Colorado high school before assaulting victim in ‘targeted’ attack – as school claims its safety procedures WORK
- Two violent suspects were able to walk straight onto the Pomono High School campus
- Despite the serious security breach, officials insist all protocols were followed
Two violent suspects were able to walk straight onto a Colorado school campus and assault a student.
Disturbing video footage shows the pair brutally beating the boy last month in the cafeteria of Pomono High School in Arvada.
The men were met by a security guard at the entrance to the school, but were able to walk straight past her. Police believe they knew the victim and were targeted.
Despite the security breach, Jeffco Public Schools insists that all protocols were followed with the guard immediately recognizing that the suspects were intruders.
Unfortunately, those two ignored the campus supervisor at the time and went elsewhere, Jeff Pierson, executive director of safety for the school district told 9News.
No weapons were used in the attack and the victim escaped with minor injuries
“Our campus supervisor did exactly what they were made to do, which is come on the radio and ask for backup.”
Pierson stressed that administrators were able to stop the fight in seconds and that the Arvada police officer assigned to the school arrived on the scene within two minutes.
He explained that due to the swift action, the school did not go into lockdown.
“I’m really proud of our team,” said Pierson. “I’m proud that the training we provide for our campus security and our school administrators worked that day.”

One of the suspects, a minor, was apprehended at the scene and is expected to be charged with assault and trespassing.
The second suspect, an 18-year-old man, should face similar charges, Arvada police said.
Pierson said the incident had sparked a discussion about safety on the open campus, where students can come and go during lunch and free time.
“I don’t want to take away from that, I think it’s important that we find the balance between what still allows them to be high school students, but without the risk of not having a safe environment,” he said.
