Shocking footage has revealed the moment a New York City cyclist and his dog were hit by an SUV after he told the motorist he “drives like shit.”

The terrifying hit-and-run occurred on the Big Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue as the cyclist, identified as McDonald’s famed ‘hatchet man’ Michael Palacios, was riding along the bike path with his dog Simba.

CCTV footage of the collision has since gone viral online, showing the moment the giant SUV deliberately sped towards the cyclist and his dog.

After crashing into Palacios and leaving him stranded on the road, the truck unbelievably starts up again, running over the bike before shocked onlookers see them flee the scene.

Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment Palacios and his dog strolled down Manhattan’s iconic Fifth Avenue before the hit-and-run.

The cyclist claims he told the motorist that he “drives like crap,” prompting the truck to deliberately accelerate forward and hit him before fleeing the scene.

Palacios shared the impressive hit-and-run with his 7,000 Instagram followers, criticizing the driver and saying his dog Simba “doesn’t deserve this.”

‘What happened? I told a bad driver that he drives like crap,” she said.

‘I proceeded and he rear-ended me. And yes, he knew that Simba was on the bike.

“The best thing about cargo bikes is that they take 90% of the shock. I don’t tie Simba to the bike so he can go in a safe direction.

Images of Palacois’s recent hit-and-run scare quickly spread on social media, but it’s not the first time she’s made headlines.

Last year, he was filmed threatening customers at a New York McDonald’s after witnesses claimed he was turned away by a young woman.

The incident erupted around 2 a.m. on Manhattan’s Lower East Side in September, and Palacios was arrested after he fearfully brandished an ax during his tirade.

The Bronx resident was arraigned on charges of criminal mischief and fourth-degree possession of weapons, but was later released without bail.

Palacios even responded to the incident on Instagram, where he said, “After the 5-minute police chase through the Lower East Side, the NYPD told me, ‘That was a fun chase.

“Traffic was light and I couldn’t get out of the neighborhood. I fell off my bike doing a hairpin turn from the street to the sidewalk, landing on my shoulder and dislocating it.

‘They took me to the hospital and then to jail. And now I’m out. Do some of you want me to go to jail? Already done! Ha ha. So have a great day,’ she gloated.

Palacios previously made headlines after he was filmed going on a terrifying rampage at a New York McDonalds.

Social media users rushed to support Palacios after footage of the crash was shared online.

“Jesus Christ I’m glad you and Simba are okay, that really sucks,” one said.

Another user commented: ‘The way he chased you after you woke up is crazy. I’m glad you and Simba got out of the way.

“It looks like an assassination attempt to me,” added a fellow cyclist.

After the accident, Palacios created a GoFundMe account to repair his broken cargo bike, which is featured prominently on his Instagram page.

‘Simba and I were on Fifth Avenue and a bad driver hit us from behind. He almost runs Simba over and then flees the scene,” he said in the fundraising post.

Since then, Palacios’ fundraiser has raised more than $1,200 in just three days.

The NYPD confirmed to Dailymail.com that no police report was made after the incident.
