Shocking moment: Rogue British tennis hooligans unleashed a foul-mouthed soccer chant against the French star and were KICKED OUT of the Australian Open

  • A trio of fans were asked to leave Court 13 at the Australian Open on Wednesday
  • It was during a match between Cameron Norrie and Constant Lestienne of France.
  • Lestienne was the target, with chants getting under her skin in the four-set loss.

Three ‘tennis hooligans’ were thrown out of the Australian Open in wild scenes at Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.

Chaos broke out in the second round match on court 13, where England’s Cameron Norrie faced French journeyman Constant Lestienne.

Some of the chants from the British ‘fan’ trio included ‘You’re so *** Andy Murray’ and ‘Lestienne is going home’.

The chair umpire eventually got fed up with the rebellious behaviour.

She got up from her seat and walked over to security, who quickly led the men out.

Three ‘tennis hooligans’ (rear, standing) were thrown out of the Australian Open in wild scenes at Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.

France’s Constant Lestienne was targeted, and the official was furious during his second round match against England’s Cameron Norrie.

Far from apologizing, the abuse continued as they chanted ‘goes home’ in Lestienne’s direction on the way out.

It’s not the first time that fan behavior at the Open has drawn attention this year.

Russian star and men’s singles title threat Daniil Medvedev told a rowdy fan to “fuck off” during his first-round demolition of Marcos Giron on Monday.

And Danis Shapovalov had a heated exchange with a spectator after the Canadian grew frustrated at being interrupted during his game on Wednesday night.

After complaining to the referee that a fan had disrupted a rally, he told the referee: ‘You don’t need to be doing that. They had one too many beer and now they’re fooling around.

The incident during Norrie’s match is not the first time spectators have made headlines at the Open, with Denis Shapovalov accusing spectators of drinking too much beer and ‘goofing around’ during their win on Wednesday night.

The fan then appeared to yell something at the star, prompting him to respond by saying, “Shut up.”

Norrie ultimately won 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 to advance to the third round, where he will face rising star from the Czech Republic, Jiri Lehecka.

Speaking after the match, Norrie said the spectators weren’t much of a distraction.

Actually, in the first set there were a lot of English fans. They had the football chants going, and then obviously they got kicked out,” he said.

‘It definitely cheered me up.

11th seed Cameron Norrie was not bothered by the chants, stating that after the match it helped him focus and was “so much fun”.

‘It was a great atmosphere. It’s great, obviously, on one of the outside courts for them to stick around and support me, especially (when I was) playing so late.

‘I thought it was very funny.’

Seeded 11th in Melbourne, Norrie reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last year, losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.

The 27-year-old, who was born in South Africa, also advanced to the third round at the Australian Open in 2021.
