As the man turns the corner and stops to pick up a baseball cap, the woman comes back into view and tries to chase after him – wearing only one sneaker.

A video caption says the incident happened Aug. 5 in San Diego’s East Village, and police were called to the scene.

While the video’s caption claims the man stole the woman’s bike, some posters cast doubt on that description.

They noted that the height of the bicycle matched that of the man and that the woman was much shorter.

San Diego Police Department officials said they have no information about the Island Street incident.

The incident comes less than a month after security cameras caught a burglar affectionately petting a golden retriever before stealing his owner’s $1,300 electric bicycle from his San Diego garage.

In the video, the man can be seen entering a lit and open garage before attempting to stealthily drive the expensive bike away – but before he can, he is stopped by the friendly dog.

The crook was then seen riding the bike back into the garage, putting it on the kickstand and rubbing the dog’s belly as he told him, “You’re the coolest dog ever!”

The sane moment didn’t deter the scammer, who quickly got back to work and took off on his bike.

Lieutenant Brian Brecht of the San Diego Police Department described it as a “very unique situation.”

“The man enters the garage, grabs the bike and starts to walk out. He’s about five feet outside the garage door and a golden retriever comes out into the garage and follows the man out,” he said. NBC7.

“He comes right back in, parks the bike and starts playing with the dog.”

“You have too much shit, how do you have so much shit in your house? Why do you have all that stuff? Dude, you might be the coolest dog ever.”

He then rode the bike off before hopping on the saddle. After a pause of about ten seconds to look, the dog then ran after the intruder and left the camera’s field of view.
