Shocking video shows the moment a half-naked British tourist launches himself at a passing motorcyclist and bites him during a frenzy before being dragged away by police.
The man, believed to be with the Royal Navy, was with a group of other Britons in Chennai, southeast India, when he began his bizarre attack on commuters, local media report.
He is reportedly a crew member on one of two ships anchored nearby for maintenance and had been on a trip to Royapettah with his fellow sailors.
He appeared drunk as he ran through the busy street, biting people at random, as bystanders desperately tried to control the attacker.
Even as officers responded to the incident, the man managed to slip away and continued to wreak havoc.
He is seen running from the police before jumping on an unsuspecting man stuck in traffic on his moped.

After seemingly convincing him to leave their friend, the man, who also appears to be drunk, then asks, “Do you have his bag?” and added, “We’ll get a hold of Dean when we get back.”

Police continue to pull the hair of the man who carried out the biting rampage and refuse to let him go.
Indian media report that two foreigners were under the influence of alcohol when they caused a commotion on a busy street in the city’s Royapettah district.
The men had reportedly visited a shopping center and the man got into an argument with a person there before the chaos unfolded.
One of the men is said to have completely removed his T-shirt before running down the street and causing extensive damage.
Police have questioned the men but it is believed no case has been registered.
The Tamil Nadu Police and Defense Ministry have been contacted for comment.
