“This morning I felt uncomfortable during a press conference,” she wrote in French. 'Luckily I'm doing better. Thank you very much for your kind words and support.'
“I was able to meet with a medical team and I am doing well,” she added. 'But as a preventive measure and to get back into full shape, I will have to slow down the pace of my activities in the coming days.'
'I will also have to be absent from the Ville-Marie city council meeting tonight. Exceptionally, my elected colleagues in Ville-Marie will take over. I would like to thank you very much for your support. I feel blessed to be surrounded so well. It warms my heart.'
Her office explained that the mayor had experienced a “malaise” for the second time this year but was out of danger.
As a 'preventative measure', Plante will not attend the Ville-Marie city council meeting, which was scheduled for Tuesday evening.

It is not the first time that Plante has missed a work event due to illness. Earlier this year, a medical condition caused her to cancel her appearance at a press conference.
According to a care provider, she was suffering from a 'malaise' at the time.
Many sent their well wishes to Plante on social media, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premier François Legault, who wished Plante a speedy recovery.
'I'm thinking of you, Valérie. Speedy recovery,” Trudeau responded to X.
'Glad you're doing well. Quick recovery,” Legault wrote.
