Shocking moment Miami football players brawl on the sideline during Iowa State bowl game
In one of the more entertaining and friendly games of college football bowl season, two teammates appeared to physically collide Saturday night.
Two players from the University of Miami (FL) Hurricanes football team exchanged blows during the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
Senior defensive lineman Simeon Barrow Jr. was seen getting physical with freshman d-lineman Marquise Lightfoot.
Barrow was seen throwing multiple punches at Lightfoot, while Lightfoot pushed his counterpart.
Ultimately, the two were separated by their teammates and coaches in a game that Miami clearly did not want to play.
The Hurricanes were seemingly closed to the College Football Playoff and were expected to play in the ACC Championship game entering the final week of the regular season.

Miami looked uninterested in this game as QB Cam Ward left early and unscathed
Ultimately, the Hurricanes squandered their halftime lead, handing the win to Iowa State
But a painful loss at the hands of Syracuse in Central New York dashed those hopes — Miami didn’t make it to the conference championship game.
The team was then passed over for the College Football Playoff, forcing the 13th-ranked Hurricanes to play 18th-ranked Iowa State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
Miami’s best quarterback – Cam Ward, a projected first-round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft – played only half the game.
He then left the game, seemingly unscathed, with Miami leading the game 31–28.
Iowa State then staged a comeback, outscoring the ‘Canes 14-10 in the second half to win the game 42-41.
That included a 4th and goal conversion from the game’s MVP – ISU quarterback Rocco Becht – running it in from the one-yard line with 56 seconds remaining in the game to clinch the win.
Miami’s season ended with a 10-3 record – a vast improvement from the previous year’s 7-6 mark.
