Shocking moment handcuffed boy, 16, runs through streets after escaping killer stepdad who was knifing his mother to death after torturing the pair in Russia

This is the shocking moment a handcuffed boy runs desperately down the street after escaping a stepfather who stabbed his mother to death.

Vitaly Ormandzhi, 42, had taken his estranged wife Anna Boltneva, 36, and her son Bogdan, 16, hostage in Sterlitamak, Russia, it is claimed.

He punched and hit them both with a baseball bat, and threatened the pair with a gun to give him money, reports said.

They fought back and the boy managed to escape despite being handcuffed, police said.

The video shows him running to his friend's apartment, where they called the police.

Respected Russian human rights activist and campaigner against domestic violence Alyona Popova said that when officers arrived at the scene, the boy's mother was “already dead.”

“The killer stabbed her several times and cut her collarbone and neck with a knife,” she said.

His intent to kill was evident from “a black funeral ribbon” he brought to the crime scene, she added.

The Russian Investigative Committee said: 'When the ex-wife returned home, an argument broke out between her and the suspect, during which the woman's son managed to escape and contacted the police through friends.

'At that moment the suspect stabbed the victim several times in the neck and chest.

'The woman died on the spot from her injuries.'

A photo shows Ormandzhi during a crime re-enactment showing how he allegedly killed his former partner.

The distraught boy later opened up about his ordeal, revealing he had been home alone when the suspect broke in.

His estranged stepfather pointed a gun at the teen, tied his hands and feet, gagged him and took his cell phone, he told police.

“The killer said he had been planning all this for three months,” said Popova, who was briefed on the case.

'He had kept an eye on them, bought a new car to avoid being noticed, and got the keys to an emergency entrance to avoid being caught by security cameras.

'When Anna entered the apartment, he attacked her, started hitting her and demanded money.

“He hit her and Bogdan with his fists and a club, which he had brought with him along with a gun.”

While the suspect tried to tie Anna up, his son managed to break free and call for help.

The Investigative Committee confirmed that Ormandzhi had been detained and charged with murder.

He escaped from the crime scene but was arrested the next day while driving in Sterlitamak, the second largest city in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan.

Russia has seen a rising crime wave since Vladimir Putin began his war against Ukraine almost two years ago.

There is particular concern about rising domestic crime.

In this case, records show that the woman had taken Ormandzhi to court twice over previous incidents of domestic violence.

He had beaten her for hours, threatened her with a knife, pulled her hair, tried to strangle her, punched her in the face, threatened her with a bottle of acid.

Records show that the victim had withdrawn the complaints and tried to resolve the issues with Ormandzhi privately.
