Restaurant patrons got a big scare on Sunday after a gun went off in an Albuquerque restaurant.

A male customer accidentally dropped his concealed weapon The restaurant at Duran Central Pharmacy it went off on January 7 and injured a man sitting at a table.

Everyone in the restaurant rushed out the door, including the gun’s owner and a friend.

The unidentified woman checked on the victim before leaving with the suspect in what appeared to be a black Chevy Silverado pickup with a New Mexico license plate.

Albuquerque police are still searching for the suspect, and according to KRQE Newsthe injured man was released from the hospital.

The male suspect was wearing a baseball cap and a black hoodie with the words a******* live forever while eating with a woman in a gray shirt.

Security cameras caught the suspect putting his phone in his pocket before the gun went off inside the restaurant.

He and his girlfriend were shocked but remained seated for a few seconds, despite a man grabbing his head and falling out of his chair behind them.

Security footage obtained by COB 4 shows the suspect picking up an object that officials believe is a gun.

The suspect and a female friend walked out of the restaurant and drove away what appeared to be a black Chevy Silverado pickup with a New Mexico license plate.

‘The weapon was hidden. No one knew this person had this gun,” said Mona Ghattas, owner of Duran Central Pharmacy.

Surveillance footage shows the man casually walking out the door of the pharmacy after the incident with his left hand in his pocket.

“It was his gun that went off and he took off! I think that’s very disappointing,” Ghattas said.

“Carrying a gun comes with responsibility, and responsibility means sticking around and making sure everyone is safe and okay.”

The restaurant closed on January 8 and Duran Central Pharmacy was released a statement on social media later that day.

“Staff responded quickly and ensured the safe and orderly exit of customers while also caring for the injured customer,” they wrote.

“This is currently an active investigation and we are working with law enforcement to reach a resolution.”

Duran Central Pharmacy further stated: ‘We want to respect the privacy of everyone involved and therefore will not release any further details.’

Restaurant officials confirmed on social media that the gun incident was an accident.
