Shocking moment former Connecticut state worker fires multiple rounds inside police station lobby after slamming her pistol against protective glass: Suspect held on $3 MILLION bail after crash

Surveillance footage captured a former Connecticut state worker having a violent meltdown in a police station where she fired at the protective glass and repeatedly held the gun to her head.
Suzanne Laprise, 51, entered the Bristol Police Department at around 11.30pm on Thursday when she rushed to the front and started shooting.
Security footage shows the former government employee storming into the police station with a gun to her head.
She made her way to the empty front desk and began banging on the windows with her weapon while smoking what appeared to be a cigarette.
Laprise then fired several rounds at the glass before removing her red jacket. Police said the bullets did not penetrate the glass.

She then sat down on a bench in the lobby and held the gun to her head and was seen firing a shot into the ceiling before officers approached.
Body camera footage shows officers assessing the situation from the hallway before attempting to have an open dialogue with the shooter.
The Connecticut Inspector General’s Office said during the attempts, Laprise fired additional rounds in the direction of the officers.
On the body camera, footage is heard of officers asking if the windows are bulletproof as gunshots are heard.
Officer Spencer Boisvert returned fire, firing two shots. The bulletproof glass stopped all rounds and no one was hit.
As soon as Laprise put down her weapon, the video shows officers rushing towards her.
Police said they “deployed an electronic defensive weapon” before taking her into custody.

She was taken to Bristol Hospital for evaluation and was later released.
Laprise is facing charges of Criminal Attempted Murder, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm Under the Influence, Criminal Use of a Weapon, Violation of Pistol Permit Requirements, Unlawful Possession of Large Capacity Magazine, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Reckless menacing 1st degree and breach of peace 2nd degree.
She worked for 12 years for the state Department of Developmental Services, which helps people with disabilities, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
CT Insider reported that earlier in the evening at a nearby sports bar, Laprise said she was going to the police station to tell them to ‘kill me or I’ll shoot them.’ It is unclear what caused her collapse.
She used a gun that belonged to her boyfriend, a retired New York police officer.
She is being held on a $3 million bond and her next court date is scheduled for October 17.
