A Florida man has been arrested and charged after he was caught on camera viciously punching an elderly customer at a Walmart last month.
Joseph Albert McFadden, 34, has been charged with aggravated battery on the elderly after brutally punching the victim twice in the face and fleeing the scene.
The disturbing attack happened around 10 a.m. on October 11, when the victim, in his 80s, left Walmart in Lauderdale Lakes with a shopping bag in his hands.
McFadden was arrested last week at another Walmart in the county after the store’s security staff identified him and reported him to police. the Miami Herald.
The 34-year-old from Lauderhill, Florida, remained at large for more than a month after the unprovoked attack, which was captured entirely from multiple angles by store surveillance cameras.

The victim “suffered several lacerations and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries,” sheriff’s spokesman Carey Codd told the Miami Herald.
“Detectives say the attacker did not steal anything from the victim, and the victim does not know the attacker and did not have any words with him prior to the incident,” authorities said.
Surveillance footage shows McFadden leaving the parking lot and confronting the victim just behind the sliding doors of the Walmart store.
He quickly punched the victim, who has not yet been identified, twice in the face without saying a word.
McFadden then casually strolled away from the store’s entrance, casually heading north on foot, as evidenced in the footage.
In the video, he was seen wearing a navy blue sweater with gray lettering on the front, black pants and slippers.

McFadden then casually strolled away from the store’s entrance, casually heading north on foot, as evidenced in the footage.
“It was a brutal, unprovoked attack, caught on camera,” the Broward Sheriff’s Office said when police searched for McFadden last month.
McFadden was taken into custody Friday by Sunrise police near the 3300 block of North University Drive, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit.
McFadden faces one count of aggravated battery on a person 65 years or older.
He remained behind bars at the North Broward County Bureau as of Wednesday morning, with bail set at $10.00.
