The teen then stands up again, whereupon the officer grabs her again. The police accuse her of trying to hit the officer.

Speaking with WPLG Local10Tate said, “He should never have done that. He grabbed me and threw me to the ground and one of them stepped on my hair.”

The teen also claimed she never hit the officer, adding: “I didn’t hit him. I told him to get off me.”

Her mother Monique Warner also came forward and said she believes the officer went too far.

Warner told the outlet: “I don’t think he should have done that to my child. You should have restrained her better.”

“He shouldn’t just lay his hands on someone’s children. You’re supposed to help them. That’s why the children are afraid of the law.”

In an arrest report obtained by the newspaper, Miami-Dade Schools said Tate pushed a responding sergeant and then attempted to punch the officer in the face.
