Shocking moment fists fly as brawl breaks out on a jetty with one man pushed off into a boat in row over who gets to take the next ferry home from idyllic Italian beach
This is the shocking moment a brawl breaks out on a jetty after passengers argue over who gets to dock first on the ferry home from an idyllic Italian beach.
Dozens of sunbathers were spotted at the Lido Schiacchetiello in Bacoli, Naples, fighting on the pier and on board a boat.
Witnesses who captured footage of the chaos told local media that the mass argument broke out after passengers disagreed over who should board first.
A shocking clip from the drama shows a group of rowdy people in swimwear beating and punching each other in a small boat floating on the water.
A man can be seen repeatedly punching another passenger in the face and then hitting him on the back with his fists.
Chaotic footage captured the moment a man was thrown from a pier into a boat during a brawl on a pier in Italy
According to witnesses, dozens of men were seen beating each other as they argued over who would take the next ferry home
The fight quickly spread from the boat to the pier as the men in bathing suits kicked and punched each other
The fight escalates as the men in the boat attack another group of men standing on the pier, shouting at each other and waving their arms.
As they push and shove each other across the wooden bridge, one unlucky beachgoer is violently thrown off the pier before landing in the boat filled with angry fighters.
Despite this, the fight between the men continues. One man climbs into the boat from the pier, while another continues to fight on land.
The pier soon fills with fighting individuals, while several spectators look on in shock in the clear water.
According to the witness, among the fighters were also some Neapolitan TikTokers.
Eventually the battle comes to an end and several men can be seen climbing onto the rocking ship before it sets sail.
The July 22 viral clip was shared by MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli on Instagram, in which he expressed disappointment over the unnecessary violence.
He wrote: ‘In Varcaturo, women fought for a sunbed in the front row. The scenario, the genre and the motivations have changed, but not the violence that returns to the beaches’.
Just two weeks ago, a brawl broke out on an Italian beach between angry sunbathers after they were denied sunbeds at a prime coastal location.
The lifeguards refused the request and a violent fight broke out between the women and the public. Footage shows the women wrestling and pulling each other’s hair.
The men tripped over each other as the fighting continued
The small craft could be seen rocking and tilting in the water as several men attempted to climb aboard.
Witnesses said the women then turned on the lifeguards who tried to pull them away, with the fight lasting “more than half an hour.”
The violent scenes took place in the seaside resort of Varcaturo, near Naples, where families were out for the day.
Borrelli continued with his comment about the violent brawl of last Monday: ‘A merciless scene under the fearless gaze of many tourists and children.
‘Any excuse is good to give free rein to violence, barbaric instincts, degradation and subcriminal ways. In reality, we cannot speak of triggers, they themselves are the reason for the violence inherent in their existence.
‘These individuals cannot be with others, they cannot transform beaches and public places into rings, saloons, conquest zones.
‘For this reason, we have proposed some time ago to establish a Metropolitan Tourist Police. They can guarantee safety and order in these busy places where many citizens and visitors come. We can also keep rogues at bay, who should be reported and severely punished.’
The mayor of Bacoli, Josi Della Ragione, also echoed Borrelli’s concerns, saying in a message on social media: “Get out of Bacoli! I have started the procedures to order the municipal daspo against the group of thugs who yesterday in the waters of Bacoli caused an undignified brawl.
“We will also report them for the damage to the image of our city. A physical clash that terrifies the thousands of good people who live here.
‘Anyone who does not appreciate Bacoli and the most elementary rules of civilian life must never set foot there again.
“We will do everything we can to identify those responsible for the atrocities captured in so many videos on social media.”
